Job Description
The Director, IT Infrastructure Strategy and Service Management is a newly-created role within Rockwell Automation. This role reports to the Vice President, IT Infrastructure and Operations (I&O).
As a member of the IT Infrastructure and Operations leadership team, this role will lead the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT infrastructure and operations strategy, and ensures its alignment with the enterprise's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.
This individual will have solid technical infrastructure experience, excellent vendor management skill, excellent customer service track record, plus a superior, service-oriented approach to infrastructure operations. This individual is also responsible for operational and service management processes to ensure quality, efficiency and agility goals are achieved.
This role will also operate as a "Chief of Staff" to the VP, IT Infrastructure and Operations.

Job Description
The Director, IT Infrastructure Strategy and Service Management is a newly-created role within Rockwell Automation. This role reports to the Vice President, IT Infrastructure and Operations (I&O).

This individual is also responsible for operational and service management processes to ensure quality, efficiency and agility goals are achieved.
This role will also operate as a "Chief of Staff" to the VP, IT Infrastructure and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sets the mission and vision of the I&O organization to foster a business-oriented culture and mindset driven by continual service improvement techniques.
- Leads the development of the I&O strategy and roadmap and ensures its integration with the overall IT and enterprise strategic plans.
- Works with the IT senior leadership team on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritize resources.
- Acts as a trusted advisor and builds and maintains relationships with other IT leaders and business executives to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensures cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs, and is able to respond with agility to changing business priorities.
- Develops and controls the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for I&O to ensure it is consistent with overall strategic objectives of IT and the enterprise and is within plan.
- Participates in the assessment of external and internal technology capabilities required to achieve desired competitive positioning.
- Provides strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of IT systems that fulfill the needs of the business, including the full life cycle of technical architecture, infrastructure engineering, infrastructure operations and IT service support. With the goal to deliver high availability, performance, capacity, in a cost effective and secure manner.
- Directs the development of I&O sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management.
- Works with HR and the IT leadership team to identify, hire, develop and retain a high performing, and diverse I&O team, with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills and competencies.
- Responsible for driving holistic capacity based roadmaps for each of the I&O functions
- He/She will take point to drive cross-initiative governance and communication across the team, ensuring our Agile methodologies, tools and reporting are maturing, easy-to-create and digest, and accurately tell the story of what work is underway and what outcomes we will expect.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12+ years of technically focused experience
- A deep understanding of expertise in infrastructure software, (e.g., systems/operations systems, networking, cybersecurity, storage)
- Experience within Cloud services or other IT solutions
- Adept at operating in a tactical, strategic and operational level across a technology organization
- A passion for all things infrastructure and track record of delivering infrastructure at scale
- Experience in shaping infrastructure strategy and executing vision behind it.

- Thrives on building culture of accountability, collaboration, and results.
