Position Overview:
Eaton Corporation's Corporate IT organization is seeking a Director - IT Technology Platforms. This position will report directly to the VP IT & CTO. This is a hybrid position that can be based in any Eaton facility.
The Director - IT Technology Platforms will build, grow, and develop a global team that is empowered to deliver modern employee experiences through contemporary technology platforms such as Office 365 and Service Now. The team consists of over 40 employees, including leaders-of-people, and contractors that are distributed across Eaton's footprint.
This person will be a significant contributor in defining our employee experience strategy and related technology roadmaps. They will execute our workplace strategy by partnering with key IT and Business stakeholders and ecosystem partners. This person will bring expertise in designing, building, running and modernizing production platforms in a hybrid multi-cloud environment and be responsible for each enterprise platform end to end, including the overall strategy, investment roadmap, business architecture, operations, and management.
As a part of the Infrastructure Services leadership team, this position will have significant leadership and interface responsibilities with the Eaton operational leaders, vendor partners and information technology product teams across the enterprise. This position will also own the key ITSM process for Eaton and ensure effective deployment of the key processes across the enterprise. This position will have direct responsibility for the IT profit plan related to technology platform team.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Creates a more integrated enterprise-wide delivery approach and implement consistent leading-edge engineering practices and agile DevOps
- Develops Roadmap including investments in tools, technology, and training (onboarding of teams to their platforms)
- Ensures their platform offerings remain innovative and keep pace with changing external market conditions
- Ensure high quality, on-time delivery related to key platform modernization programs employee experience, productivity, and workplace solutions
- Set the strategy to maximize the use and growth of the platforms (O365, Service Now), while returning the required investment for the platform to the business
- Lead the shift to a new agile operating model that extends beyond DevOps and includes all business practices and new ways of working
- Streamline, standardize and automate business processes where possible to reduce cost and increase the speed of new releases
- Collaborate with key business and IT partners across LOBs and functions to align technology and business priorities; negotiate and execute program improvements aligned with business strategy, service quality objectives and financial goals
- Create a more integrated enterprise-wide delivery approach and implement consistent leading-edge engineering practices, including Cloud-native development, platform engineering (reusable componentry for key applications, e.g., chat functionality, authentication, etc.) and agile DevOps
- Responsible for the prioritization of platform work based on key journey customers and/or other internal customers
- Seek to continuously innovate on new capabilities in line with industry trends and identify cost efficiencies
- Develop team capabilities and manage deployment to provide customer-focused design and implementation support
- Ensure functional knowledge is retained through a collaborative and agile work environment
- Invest in the development and acquisition of capabilities to support the long-term growth of the platform
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience, preferably managing virtually in a global environment
- Experience managing a team of professionals and engineers in technology platforms such as O365 and/ or Service Now
- Knowledge of manufacturing business processes is a plus
- Possess advanced technical depth and knowledge of cloud, database, integrations, network, compute, and storage
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship
Education:
- An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution is required
- An advanced degree is preferred
Compensation:
- Eaton recognizes this role as a critical position within the corporation and will create a compelling package consisting of a base salary, employee incentive compensation, including long term incentive, and complete benefits
