We are seeking an equally passionate Director of Learning & Development to develop and drive best-in-class learning experiences which engage participants intellectually, emotionally, and personally for transformative growth and development at all levels and job types, including sales, skilled trades/operations, call center, shared services and leadership positions. This role is responsible for assessing and identifying the company's training needs, developing a learning culture, and managing and directing the training department. The Director of Learning and Development is an internal performance consultant who works with managers and leaders to identify and differentiate training and skill development needs from process improvement, communication, incentive, or other issues.

The ideal candidate will be business-driven, ‘people-centric’ with a high sense of customer service and willing to contribute to and drive a strong culture of learning and employee engagement. The ideal candidate should exhibit a deep understanding of adult learning, instructional design, eLearning, and internal consulting. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Designs employee training programs that align with company goals, industry standards, and employee skill sets
  • Leads the training team including instructional designers, Sales, Operations, and other functional Trainers located across the organization.
  • Provides ongoing coaching, performance management, and development to all Training team members to ensure that they are continuously developing their training knowledge and skills and personal leadership capabilities
  • Acts as an internal performance consultant to effectively determine training requirements vs. other organizational needs such as communication or process improvements.  
  • Oversees the planning, prioritization, and development of new training programs and initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with the business strategies, objectives, and needs.
  • Supports a positive employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance and employee engagement
  • Develop and design training needs analyses to ensure appropriate training continuum of learning programs along with related materials for both company and functional specific levels
  • Develops and compiles training manuals and other training aids, training films/videos/ storyboards and other tools/equipment used to deliver the training message.
  • Owns the Learning Management System (LMS) ensuring that it is properly utilized and leveraged across the organization. Maintains training information system records and compile reports from the system
  • Understands the business and meets the business objectives by contributing to training projects and initiating training projects aligned with the business
  • Conducts department specific and company-wide skills gaps analysis to identify areas of training needed
  • Completes training evaluations (to level 3 and where possible level 4) on an ongoing basis. 
  • Prepares weekly, monthly status reports, Key Performance Indicators for Chief Human Resources Officer, and other Sr. Leaders
  • Build a feedback loop for training that checks and affirms the understanding of content and long-term retention of knowledge. Use metrics from the feedback loop to iterate and refine training content/programs
  • Monitors and ensures the achievement of results within the approved training department budget. 

Education/Experience

  • BA/BSc Degree in Education, Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development or demonstrated experience in a similar business environment required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in Training with consistent career progression
  • Practical experience preferred, but not required, with at least 4-7 years working as a Sales Trainer in supporting a multi-site environment
  • Experience in training sales teams and/or experience in successful performance in a sales position
  • Experience using e-Learning authoring tools, such as Sandler Training and SAP Litmos
  • Proficiency using Google Workspace tools (Docs Slides, Sheets, Drive, etc. )
  • Additional certification in training is a plus
  • CPTD (or CPLP) preferred

$130,000$150,000 USD
