Job Description
The Director, Logistics Operations will handle transportation of all Amplify products which includes inbound shipments of manufactured & procured products into Amplify Distribution Centers and outbound fulfillment of customer orders. This position will handle and supervise Amplify's strategic Logistics partners who will provide these services.
The Director, Logistics Operations will report to the Exec. Director of Operations and will work closely within the integrated Supply Chain team and handle the third-party Logistics vendor relationships, carrying out contractual rates and SLAs.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to build effective working relationships with a national, remote team in Customer Operations, Inventory Mgt and Manufacturing as well as Amplify's Distribution Centers.
They must be able to qualify and establish a preferred vendor base of logistics partners and contribute to contract negotiations and enforcement and also be able to maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail while handling multiple projects. This candidate will need to apply a continuous improvement outlook to all current processes, driving effective change where necessary. The Director, Logistics Operations will be encouraged to stay informed on the competitive landscape and deliver innovative, cost effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Select Amplify's preferred vendors who can provide cost competitive LTL and FTL shipments, specializing in Inside Deliveries and occasionally White Glove deliveries to schools.
- Establish and maintain direct relationships with UPS and FedEx
- Manage the Preferred Logistics Vendor base, negotiating & monitoring SLA's and ensuring pricing is negotiated and competitive.
- Handle qualified vendors who can ship Amplify products to International customers. Work with Sales and Customer Operations to ensure all required documents are completed.
- Attend daily scrum calls with warehouse fulfillment partners and invite Logistics partners as necessary.
- Work closely with Amplify's Cost Auditing team to establish invoicing standards with all Logistics partners
- Work with Amplify's Engineering team and Cost Auditing to establish a process to have actual shipping costs of customer orders flow into Netsuite
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in handling Logistics partnerships with approved 3PL partners.
- 5+ years of experience handling logistics to schools or customers with highly specialized receiving requirements.
- Experience with CRM and ERP administration, or B2B EDI communication.
- Broad-based business background Experience in customer service and customer support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Results-driven and operationally adept to find manufacturing solutions within challenging timelines and customer requirements.
- Ability to manage and work with vendors to achieve desired outcomes to meet specific customer needs
- Experience working directly with C-level executives with ability to win trust from busy and fast paced managers
- Experience on the front lines having achieved tangible results through meaningful partnerships with vendors and customers.
- Ability to effectively connect with both senior level executives, colleagues and subordinates.
