Director, M&A integration
Job Description
The Director, M&A integration role requires an individual to develop strategies and framework approaches to integration and ensure key operational activities are executed for each integration. AES Clean Energy is focused on maximizing the shareholder value realized through M&A activity, including operational and confirmatory due diligence & post-merger integration. This individual will work with senior executives on strategic integration issues across Finance, Development, Commercial, Operations, IT, HR, Communications, Marketing and EPC. The role will close any open integration items from prior M&A and plan and deliver successful integration on new M&A activity.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with M&A team from pipeline to due diligence to deal close
- Participate in deal confirmatory and operational diligence; provide programmatic leadership for key deals, identifying key integration opportunities and risks during due diligence
- Lead M&A integration strategy, planning and execution
- Surface strategic opportunities and roadblocks throughout integration
- Elevate critical risks and opportunities to senior leadership, ensuring senior leadership attention and decision-making required for successful integration
- Develop overall integration plans and milestones
- Partner, assign accountability and drive outcomes of functional leaders responsible for specific workstreams during integration
- Drive day-to-day execution of the integration process
- Develop success metrics aligned with transaction value drivers and report outcomes to the Senior Leadership Team, business unit M&A team, and global M&A team
- Improve integration outcomes by demonstrating industry standard methodologies and post-integration findings
- Ensure M&A Integrations are completed in accordance with planned timing, funding, and designated scope
- Effective generation and dispersion of information and knowledge to program and support leadership and delivery teams to ensure overall business visibility
- Help craft compelling executive presentations for program visibility and decision-making; collaborate with business unit and global M&A teams on integration program development
- Identify opportunities to drive improvement in current processes for enabling process efficiency and champion ideas for change
- Build trusted and strong working relationships with all partners and stakeholders
- Ensure timely communication and collaboration with acquired employees
- Effectively problem solve when issues/challenges related to integrations arise
Experience and Qualifications
- BA/BS in business, finance, HR, IT or related field
- 10+ years of experience in corporate HR, IT, M&A or equivalent consulting experience
- Strong project management and communication capabilities
- Strong influence and collaboration capabilities; comfortable presenting to senior leadership

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $165,000 and $199,750/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
