Director, M&A Strategy

Job Description:

Business Development supports Mars Snacking's reinvention by shifting the portfolio orientation toward greater exposure to tailwind categories, geographies, and channels. The Business Development Director supports all inorganic efforts toward this goal including M&A, partnerships, and alternative (equity based) arrangements.

This role interacts with key members of the Mars Snacking Leadership Team including the President, CFO, General Counsel, and segment strategy lead. This role partners closely with Mars Corporate Development as well as external consultants and financial advisors to deliver the Business Development agenda.

What are we looking for?

Minimum qualifications:

• Master's in Business Administration

Preferred qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years in management consulting or related role
• Demonstrated PMO capabilities
• Financial acumen and modeling experience (transaction context preferred, not required)
• Familiarity with food and beverage /consumer package goods
• Understanding of emerging markets dynamics
• Strong oral/written communication skills combined with a professional demeanor

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Program management across all transaction workstreams including: i) Ensure interdependencies are understood and managed for joint business planning and operating model set-up for ongoing initiatives; ii) Own timelines and support Corporate Development Team on timely inputs from external advisor network including tax, accounting, legal, and financial
• Analytical support and market research to determine market sizing, size of prize, and anti-trust issues for specific M&A / partner investigations
• Commission and oversee business and consumer diligence in support of specific M&A / partner engagements
• Translate analysis and strategy into credible business plans that support valuation and clear story lines and compelling communications that enroll key stakeholders in the segment and broader enterprise
• As needed, support the financial and operational integration of acquisitions post close to ensure that Mars Snacking delivers the value from acquisitions
