Job Description
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in a equity research, market research, investment banking, consulting, or corporate strategy role at a technology or media related company.
- 5 years of experience leading teams within market intelligence.
- Experience in financial modeling and analytics.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA or Master's degree.
- CPA or CFA.
- Experience in consumer Internet and media industries, and experience communicating, presenting, and influencing a range of audiences, including executives.
- Understanding of finance functions, including operations, accounting, processes, risks, and controls.
- Ability to build novel analyses, make well-reasoned assumptions, work with large volumes of data, and triangulate across numerous data sources.
- Excellent business judgment, with financial modeling, spreadsheet software, databases, and presentation software skills

The YouTube Strategy, Analytics, and Finance (SAF) team's mission is to make YouTube commercially sustainable, by identifying and guiding the business towards opportunities, guiding the organization to make the best possible decisions, and enabling effective implementation and operations.
The SAF team works closely with YouTube leadership across the product, engineering, and business organizations to address challenges and opportunities across the company, help chart the long-term direction for YouTube, and provide analytics and decision support for the planning and guiding of the business.
In this role, you will lead a team that functions as the authoritative source of industry data and trends, runs proactive and ongoing research. You will also monitor activity as well as identify and assess potential external investment opportunities. Further, you will apply critical thinking, analyze data, formulate and synthesize recommendations on business decisions to executive leadership across various departments. Finally, you will be an integral part of the Strategy team, investing to further build the Strategy community, and be a culture-carrier for the team.
The Business Operations and Strategy team at Google plays a critical role in defining and driving strategic, operational and organizational improvements across the company. Also known as "BizOps", the group operates like an internal consulting group working on a range of critical projects and issues. BizOps creates strategies for promoting growth of our products like YouTube, Chrome and Mobile. They handle issues around partner development, strategy work in emerging markets such as Africa and India, as well as pricing strategies across our B2B and consumer products. The BizOps team is at the forefront of Google's fast-moving strategic priorities, addressing operational challenges and enabling innovation.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $260,000-$382,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Set vision and execution of YouTube's broad-based market intelligence function, while ensuring alignment with product, business, finance, and engineering priorities.
- Partner with YouTube's executive team on strategic priorities and determine how best to take on solving opportunities and problems with market lens (e.g., structuring, launching, and driving projects that inform critical decisions).
- Develop comprehensive driver-based models and projections for the market landscape and provide insights and regular updates to leadership.
- Prepare presentations on market trends/strategic analysis for YouTube's executives and the broader organization.
- Drive thought leadership, industry analysis, market tracking, and more.
