About This Role:

As a Director, Marketing Analytics you will be part of a central analytics organization, you will have the opportunity manage the Marketing Analytics group at Gartner Digital Markets (GDM).

What You Will Do:

  • You will identify new areas to apply analytics to increase software buyer visits to the GDM portfolio of digital properties.
  • You will develop a deep understanding of how each marketing channel functions as well as an understanding of the data used to measure the performance of each channel.
  • You will improve the methodology for calculating the return on marketing investment and partner with the Marketing team to help understand optimizations.
  • You will analyze how each channel works together to engage the buyer population, and you will measure the role of site content in acquiring and retaining buyers.
  • You will support the planning and forecasting process and help predict the contribution of each marketing channel to business performance.
  • You will manage a team of marketing analytics managers and independent contributors, and you will report directly to the head of analytics at GDM while supporting the CMO of Gartner Digital Markets.

  • Partner with marketing channel owners to evaluate the performance of specific marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure the marketing team and broader GDM leadership team has the necessary data and reporting assets to accomplish their objectives.
  • Manage the production of ad hoc analysis and project-based analysis to support marketing goals.
  • Quantify the impact of major marketing initiatives and communicate findings to key stakeholders.
  • Support centralized analytics initiatives to lower the cost and increase the value of analytics.
  • Support the planning and forecasting process as needed to predict marketing channel performance.
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources to support analytics goals.
  • Manage data strategy and analytics workflows to support marketing report development including centralization and processing of marketing cost data to support profitability reporting.
  • Improve the quality and coverage of marketing campaign data.
  • Drive standardization in marketing performance reporting across analysis and reporting deliverables
  • Manage the development of reporting and analysis to support effective development of content across GDM properties and content types.
  • Partner with technology teams and external vendors to ensure external data sources are available for reporting and analysis initiatives.

What you'll bring to the team:

  • BA/BS degree required; graduate degree preferred.
  • Degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics or another quantitative field preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of overall work experience in business or analytics related roles
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing a team of data analysts
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting demand generation and marketing execution
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience using a query language on a daily basis Experience developing custom approaches to solve complex analytics challenges.
  • Experience working with cloud-based or relational database management systems (Snowflake, BigQuery, SQL)
  • Experience working with web analytics tools and experience using web analytics tools to support marketing execution (Google Analytics, Omniture)
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization systems (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Proficiency with Google or Microsoft suite of business applications required (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Experience working for consumer or business-facing digital businesses a big plus.
