Gallery Media Group is a rapidly growing digital media company whose mission is to “make positivity louder.” Its three key sectors include: 

  • Media + Publishing: PureWow, a women’s lifestyle brand; ONE37pm, a men’s lifestyle brand at the intersection of culture, music, NFTs and sports; and social-born brands such as @recipes, @cocktails, @moms
  • Social Portfolio: 50+ owned + operated accounts across TikTok, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest, including running TikTok accounts for brand partners
  • Talent and Influencer Arm: Strategy and activations ranging from celebrity partnerships and stunts to year long ambassadorships and campaign work across platforms and categories 

We are seeking a Director for our Media & Insights team in New York City. The main objective of this position is to oversee the Media Buying, Ad Operations and Post Creative Strategy teams, providing leadership, mentorship, and technical expertise and strategy for branded content campaigns.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide leadership to Media Buying, Ad Operations and Post Creative Strategy teams, including hiring, onboarding, technical training and career development
  • Oversee and evolve all internal Media & Insights processes (display & social trafficking, QA, reporting, audience targeting strategies, and more)
  • Work closely with social platform representatives and measurement vendors to ensure GMG is on the forefront of buying trends, measurement opportunities, and innovative social strategy
  • Ongoing monitoring and recording of brand and influencer social channels, campaign components and other relevant online conversations as they relate to performance and insights
  • Lead the creation and curation of insights and data-driven decks both for internal and external stakeholders
  • Help provide inputs and POV on media placements, pricing, targeting and distribution to Media Planning team for brand RFPs
  • Develop hypotheses on subject-matter and/or specific subcultures for use in driving strategy for campaign proposal
  • Keep a daily digest of observations + recommendations at a macro level
  • Act as subject matter expert and lead on all Programmatic business opportunities; staying current on programmatic industry trends
  • Oversight of programmatic monetization, including inventory utilization, yield management, revenue pacing and SSP/DSP/Demand Partners and vendor relationships
  • Overall management of on-site ad experience and performance, working with Product & Tech teams to develop and implement new ad products, enhancements and updates
  • Maintain ad specs for all digital & social products
  • Provide thought leadership around how to present GMG as a leader in the media space to current and potential clients, while also setting both internal and external expectations of media execution
  • Manage up to senior leadership the most crucial aspects of branded content campaigns, keeping them abreast of any pertinent developments and urgent needs

Requirements: 

  • 6+ years of industry experience working in-platform with a proven track record of executing sophisticated, large scale digital media programs that drove tangible business outcomes
  • Passion for mentoring, learning, creative problem solving, and research
  • Extensive experience working across a variety of social platforms: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of digital media platforms (Google Ad Manager, Google Analytics, AdX, MOAT, DCM, Boostr, AdValidation etc).
  • Can combine creativity and analytics with the ability to convert into a story
  • Innate curiosity and ability to adapt + be flexible, whether with new tools, platforms, processes, etc. 
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Experience in managing performance marketing goals across full-funnel activation setting
  • Fluency with analytics, attribution and measurement systems.  Including but not limited to:
    • Google Analytics
    • Nielsen Branded Content Effectiveness
  • Strong understanding of Rich Media, VAST, VPAID, HTML and JS
  • Debugging and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Knowledge of different ad formats and monetization strategies
  • An individual who demonstrates the ability to navigate a portfolio of brands within a larger business group, gain an understanding of their unique company architectures, to build and strengthen relationships media strategy

Location: New York (hybrid)
