As our Director of Military Sales and Business Development, you will manage DoD and DoD adjacent business connectivity needs at bases within Boingo’s Central Region. The Director is responsible for sales and ongoing account management through the installation life cycle and acts as a point of escalation for routine maintenance needs for our Business-To-Business (B2B) contacts for a true White Glove experience. The Director owns the relationships, prospecting, and proposal flow to include business case modeling for Private Services at bases within the Central Region. The Director also acts as the liaison between Boingo’s various departments from contracting through accounts receivable support to actualizing revenues against budget targets. The Director drives internal account management as the voice of the customer with contacts for contract management, Product Management, Operations, Engineering, Marketing, Finance & Accounting, and Customer Care teams. Success in this role requires the ability to translate the needs of the DoD, and its adjacent businesses into the various internal functional groups to leverage our products and solutions with realistic and simple terms for those that need connectivity without the burden of networking details so they can meet the DoD’s primary mission at hand. There will be significant travel of 25-50% for this position meeting with potential clients and the Military.
Responsibilities
- Strengthen military installation and customer relationships by improving customer experience and satisfaction
- Meet, and exceed military installation and revenue targets
- Responsible for Budget and forecasting for Tenant & Private services business line for Boingo
- Gather business and technical requirements necessary to build and expand Boingo solutions, and route them to appropriate internal group(s).
- Respond to RFP or RFI requests on a regular basis
- Prepare reports from business intelligence systems and other systems within Boingo for clients that will be analyzing reports and preparing summaries
- Monitor service levels – review performance reports & dashboards on a regular basis
- Own the relationship between Boingo and its DoD customers
- Create highly effective relationships with military team members, departments, and primary points of contact
- Provide consistent and effective communication, hosting regular calls to report performance, and project status and reinforce values
- Work with Field Operations, elicit business from private entities on military bases, as well as respond to requests for service from private entities on bases
- Develop & prepare proposals to gain new accounts
- Track contract renewal status, key milestones, and other compliance requirements
- Monitor customer satisfaction and work with Boingo Customer Care to resolve complaints
- Communicate & present to Boingo military senior management with new opportunities
- Provide a single point of contact for commercial and military entities on the bases that Boingo serves
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of Sales or Account Management experience
- Military experience or prior sales to the Military for 3 or more years
- Demonstrated history of achieving and exceeding quotas
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fluid environment to successful completion
- Outgoing and sociable with a proven track record of communication and people skills
- Ability to think quickly, analytically, and critically
- Possess excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and self-management driven by results
- Proficient in presentation skills, Salesforce, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word
- Working knowledge of wireless technologies and the telecommunication industry & landscape
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
