POSITION SUMMARY: The Director Modernization is responsible for the execution of the Company's modernization program. The Director will collaborate with functional areas and directs the Modernization team to ensure the program is executed and achieves Company goals while maintaining focus on process and controls. This role requires expertise within the function the project is focused on (i.e., Finance, HR, Operations, Maintenance, etc.).

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the execution of solution roadmap, driving cost efficiency, that aligns to business strategy and measurably drives project key performance metrics.
  • Coordinates with multiple corporate departments to create and implement the modernization program.
  • Identifies gaps and implements standard processes for gaps found during system implementation.
  • Navigates within a geographically dispersed and operationally decentralized organization with varying levels of indirect reports/resources and key stakeholders; manages through influence to achieve modernization program objectives.
  • Based on business experience and knowledge make best practice recommendations on configurations and/or business process to maximize business results.
  • Manages and partners with Company's external vendors and collaborates with vendor resources (with emphasis on non-IT related vendor relationships).
  • Partners with and guides key stakeholders with the design and implementation of key performance metrics to monitor the effectiveness of the modernization program following implementation.
  • Build communication and training strategy for implementation; partnering with the appropriate department leaders.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience managing projects, conflict resolution and leading people.
  • Ability to consult and collaborate cross-functionally with other departments.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years in solid waste industry primary function of the modernization program.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field of the program
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in direct or related field of the modernization program
