Department Overview

The North America Government Marketing Team is responsible for developing and executing all marketing programs and tactics across the US and Canada to drive customer advocacy, account engagement, demand generation and sales enablement. The team oversees all regional marketing strategy, development programs and campaigns including: field marketing support, account based, content generation, thought leadership initiatives, enablement, customer experiences, events, & marketing ROI metrics.
Job Description

Motorola Solutions is looking for an experienced marketing leader to bring a market-driven, customer and account-focused based approach to execute our North America Government Field Marketing strategy. This leader should bring strong business fluency and collaboration skills to stay tightly aligned with our sales partners.

With the level of complexity and scale considered in next generation critical communications solutions, government organizations are increasingly looking to Motorola Solutions to reduce cost, manage risk and free their organizations to focus on their core mission with highly-secure managed services, mission critical communications, enterprise software, video security & access control solutions. 

The Director of Government Field Marketing - NA will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Lead a team of regional marketing managers focused on field actions, marketing RFP support, advocacy, and sales enablement for the U.S (State, Local and Federal sectors). and Canada. Marketing scope covers all of Motorola’s government and public safety verticals

  • Responsible for contributing towards the overall Gov Marketing strategy, defining our go-to-market positioning, developing new business pipeline, driving expansion through customer lifecycle engagement and developing a best-in-class solutions and field marketing team

  • Guide teams across field marketing functions to execute programs that build market eminence and establish winning sales conversations that connect tightly to our customers’ aspirations and how we deliver distinctive value

  • Manage top tier public safety vertical association relationships, sponsorships, negotiate contracts, and drive strategic initiatives to ensure the most ROI for Motorola Solutions

  • Own NA Experience Center narrative and demonstrations for both Government and Enterprise business across Motorola Solutions

  • Lead and ownership of Motorola Solutions overall Public Safety Technology ecosystem narrative and content strategy - including: Industry Trade Shows, physical Experience Centers and Showrooms

  • Establish programs tied to measurable business results, adoption metrics, and attachment targets. Guide precision campaigns with target-segment based marketing and enablement plans, bridging global and regional teams to co-develop and guide

  • Execute an “Account Based” marketing approach to proactively target prospective customers and engage them through various action plans and initiatives. Develop a process to prioritize, plan and execute ABM campaigns at a global level working with various regional leadership teams

  • Ensure deliverables and deadlines are met by account based marketing teams across all regions, working cross functionally with marketing ops, define ABM performance metrics and targets

  • Create annual and quarterly marketing plans and targets for targeted sales accounts and contacts that focus on new logos and accelerate existing opportunities

  • Interface with sales to determine sales enablement needs, and work with product & solution marketing to develop tools, programs in a box, training and content to assist sales conversations and account-based programs to grow our services content

  • Identify opportunities to improve marketing effectiveness through better audience segmentation, marketing techniques, and processes

  • As government and enterprise organizations increasingly shift toward cloud-computing, managed services and software-as-a-service – the way they procure, deploy and manage their software resources is fundamentally changing. This leader should be well-versed in the industry trends, evolving customer needs, and well practiced in how to tailor marketing programs to stay highly competitive in dynamic, high-tech markets

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in solutions marketing, field marketing, business development and/or product marketing for tech/products focused on software and services

  • 2+ years of experience within the technology, communications or government sector

  • Experience working in or with a sales organization, with a strong understanding of Government segment buyer journey and purchase processes

  • Understanding of Motorola Solutions’ Mission Critical ecosystem portfolio

  • Experience leading and implementing Account Based Marketing campaigns (tactics, definitions, technology tool stack, performance metrics)

  • Well-versed in industry trends, evolving customer needs, and well practiced in how to tailor marketing programs to stay highly competitive in dynamic, high-tech markets

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5+ years of experience in solutions marketing, field marketing, business development and/or product marketing for tech/products focused on software and services

  • 2+ years of experience within the technology, communications or government sector
