Our rapidly expanding organization is seeking a Director of Accounting who will champion technical accounting projects such as accounting for acquisitions, as well as working closely with our Director of Global Accounting & Finance Management team to achieve company goals! 
You love a challenge, and you are exceptional at ensuring the success of the monthly accounting close of the US entities. 

As a highly visible leader to the organization, no two days will be the same for the Director of Accounting. You are an extremely detail-oriented individual who will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits. In addition to managing the monthly closing process,  the Director of Accounting also will be executing the preparation and analysis of the financial statements.

 What you’ll do: 

  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs & expenses incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and analysis of the financial statements.  
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes. 
  • Champion solutions to improving system efficiencies and business practices. 
  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment. 
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance. 
  • Interact at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient and accurate month-end close financial reports.  
  • Support development and maintenance of the Company’s accounting policies and procedures. 
  • Support in compiling technical accounting memorandums for various transactions.  
  • Oversee the consolidation process and related reviews of consolidated financial statement information, including application of US GAAP.    
  • Analyze the effect of statutory accounting practices and studies regulations and guidance to ensure correct application of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. 
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures as well as operational processes are maintained in order to produce timely and accurate financial statements.  
  • Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses. 
  • Oversee acquisitions from purchase price allocations through to integration. 
  • Participate and lead various ad-hoc projects to support the company’s growth efforts.  
  • Prepare white papers over different technical accounting topics, as needed.
  • Interface with tax and accounting firms as needed to navigate complex issues.  
  • Manage certain ERP enhancement projects  to ensure Accounting technical stack is advanced and cutting-edge.
  • Working with other key stakeholders, assist in the management of the treasury function Improve our internal controls environment by reviewing workflows and providing necessary oversight. 
  • Assist in managing the monthly accounting close for US entities by reviewing the work of others and meeting all deadlines. 
  • Oversee all stock compensation and equity transactions.  

 What you’ll bring: 

  • BA/BS/MS in Accounting
  • A passion for continued learning & development  
  • CPA is required 
  • Minimum 10+ years of senior accountant-level experience is required 
  • Bonus points for experience working for a technology company / eCommerce company
  • Work experience in a public company with revenue of more than $100M 
  • Demonstrated success in reviewing/managing a monthly close
  • Experience with purchase accounting and integration of acquired companies  
  • Ability to draft technical memos 
  • Knowledge of GAAP 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills required 
  • Experience with analytical/reporting tools 
  • Proven growth and diversity of responsibilities in their current organization 
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to guide the work of tax and accounting consultants  
  • Experience using an enterprise level accounting system (Microsoft D365 a plus, and implementation experience also a plus)  
  • Able to work at our corporate office three days per week
