Job Description

Location: New York - This role is flexible in location, but we would like you to be able to commute to our NYC office on occasion.

About the Role

In 2020 and 2021 we took ourselves on a mission to land and expand when taking our product to the largest financial institutions in the world. In a time of great turbulence, when many other businesses had to hit pause during the pandemic, we were incredibly fortunate to have continued to grow. Among other achievements, we doubled our ARR and global headcount and raised our world-class $35m Series B funding round.

What does this role mean to us?

As we move forward in 2022, we are looking for a talented Financial Controller to come and join us to help build a world-class finance organization on its way to a potential IPO.

Without the strength of our accounting team, we wouldn’t be able to offer the industry-leading service we’re known for. We’re seeking an experienced accountant to oversee this team in the role of Director of Accounting and Consolidation. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as an accountant, preferably in a senior role, who has implemented systems and processes to achieve better control and economies of scale. As a strong communicator and organizer, you will make it your mission to streamline our accounting consolidation, compliance, payroll, and financial reporting processes. You will implement controls, systems and processes, to produce timely consolidated financial statements.

What will you be doing?

  • Implementing systems and processes to timely produce financial statements for a growing company.
  • Producing financial policies to ensure financial discipline and controls without burdening business velocity.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining financial controls and guidelines.
  • Implementing US GAAP consolidated financial statements by actively engaging external auditors and the company globally.
  • Maximizing payroll efficiency through innovative process development.
  • Optimizing tax management to ensure compliance.
  • Helping develop and support short and long-term operational strategies.

What we would like you to bring to the table…

  • To be able to manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of private contributions, loans, and government contracts.
  • To manage the relationship with external auditors, financial advisors and administrations.
  • Maintenance of internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation.
  • To develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.
  • Oversee and support the accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field.
  • 7+ years accounting experience.
  • Professional accounting certification, including CMA, CGA, or CA
  • Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP).
  • Strong understanding of consolidation and reporting processes.
  • 3+ years experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager.
  • Experience in streamlining accounting processes, including payroll management.
  • Experience in finance IT systems implementation.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in USGAAP would be preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Knowledge of Netsuite, Carta and Looker is a plus.
  • Experience in public company accounting is a plus.
  • Experience in IPO processes is a plus.

The good stuff…

  • We're excited to offer Share Options as part of our compensation package.
