Director of Agronomic Sciences

Summary

Lead and direct the National Agronomic Sciences team for Simplot Grower Solutions (SGS). This role provides technical leadership, support, and strategy for all trialing activities for crop nutrition, crop protection, and seed product lines. This team is responsible for testing new proprietary products in development and preparing for launch of new products including establishing and managing field trials, managing all data associated with testing, and establishment of field plots for training and demonstration. This team is responsible for summarizing and interpreting all data for product placement and efficacy. This role develops the annual product testing strategy and budget with the Product Management team and the Business Units to identify and test the highest priority products in each region. This role will work closely with Suppliers to coordinate testing and obtain a strong knowledge of product chemistry and genetics. This team will also coordinate trialing with CRO's and Land Grant universities as part of the trialing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a national strategic direction for product testing and technical recommendations and the associated budget.
• Coordinate testing sites and programs for annual field days with the Agronomy team and Sales and Product leadership.
• Lead and coordinate field data requirements and summaries for new product registration.
• Develop a data archiving system for all field data.
• Summarize and interpret all field trial data to support product placement and efficacy.
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Experience to summarize technical information to market new products and services.
• Collaborate with Suppliers for trialing on current and pipeline products.
• Establish relationships with contract research organizations (CRO's) and Land Grant universities as part of the trialing strategy.

Typical Education

• Master's Degree required, PhD preferred

Relevant Experience

• 10+ years related experience and/or training
• Extensive agronomic knowledge including crop protection, crop nutrition, and seed.
• Strong record of leading high performing teams.
• Ability to lead teams to summarize, interpret, and archive results from experimental and demonstration data to support product advancement and placement.

Position Pay Range: $150,000.00 to $180,000.00. This range is estimated for the Director of Agronomic Sciences in the state of Colorado, USA. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location and experience.
