Director of Business Development
Job Description
As a Director of Business Development you will drive and establish partnerships within this space. This is a key role within the partnership where you will be uniquely positioned to exponentially grow Melio’s business. You will lead strategic planning, negotiation and new partnership development with the largest marketplaces, SaaS companies, and more.Â
How you’ll make an impact:
- Ensure best-in-class, methodical deal management rooted in milestone management, KPIs, and alignment with partners on opportunities of mutual interest
- Develop and grow the business development team, as well as Melio's relationships with partners, including their senior executives - Leverage industry knowledge to craft and drive both internal and external alignment on thoughtful strategies for forging partnerships between Melio and its partners
- Navigate external stakeholders, in partnership with internal teams, to execute deals supporting Melio's long term strategy
- This role includes managing partnerships that use existing payments products, as well as developing and launching new approaches to faster, more reliable, and cost effective payment solutions.
What we’d love to see:Â
- 10+ years of partnerships experience; at least 6 years building and managing high-performing teams; and at least 4 years of payments experience
- Thorough understanding of B2B payments, SaaS models and marketplaces
- Strategic and product creativity to collaborate with internal and external leaders to develop new models for embedded payments solutions
- A strong track record of leading impactful partnership teams in a product-centric environments with significant internal and external dependencies
- Broad and deep experience executing industry-wide partnership strategies to build innovative product experiences and go to market models
- Experience negotiating commercial deals with top companies, including scaling such deals across multiple partners
- Strong executive presence, with the proven ability to influence senior leaders internally and externally, including at the C level
- An operationally focused mindset, with an ability to lead teams through complex relationship management activities by setting a clear vision, and running tight processes
- Strong team sense with the ability to work strategically and in a hands-on fashion
- Most importantly, a person who enjoys their work and is able to take pride in it
Compensation, Benefits and Perks:
- Base compensation range is $204,000 - $240,000
