Job Description

The Director of Business Development will have end-to-end responsibility for managing and growing our international business. Think of this opening as a ground floor opportunity. You will be starting your career in Rhombus with a key international client who has just subscribed to our service. You are expected to build and grow close partnership and sales opportunities, expertly guiding Rhombus’ international projects to success. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining close relationships with senior executives and leaders of our international clients, working with these stakeholders to fully understand their needs, and then fully executing these partnerships from proposal through project implementation. The ideal candidate will be highly curious, team oriented and customer centric, with a proven history of excellent project implementation and client satisfaction.

You must have an understanding of and appreciation for international cultures.

You must be a self-starter who is prepared to own, define, develop and execute new and complex partnerships across multiple geographies and cultures. We’re seeking those who have a relentless work ethic, vigor, and adaptability.

This position will require frequent and sustained travel to client sites; 50% travel. 

Responsibilities

  • To be successful in this role, you will be an expert in building and leading teams to exceed business goals. You’ll be setting clear expectations and consistently delivering for our international clients.
  • Use superb storytelling skills to pitch Rhombus’ AI-powered solutions to target international clients, fully owning each account.
  • Strategically evaluate international business opportunities and push forward the opportunities that align with Rhombus’ international business goals. We expect you to close partnership deals with target clients and exceed customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct impactful analyses on major revenue/ market and product trends, including vertical/sub-vertical performance, product adoption, leading revenue indicators, productivity and sales effectiveness across our international client landscape.
  • Design and execute on standard cadence of operations (e.g., forecasting, revenue and operational KPI reviews, key accounts/ partner segment reviews) to inform management with actionable feedback on state of international business and opportunities.
  • Work closely with executives, project leaders, finance, legal, HR, and other functional groups in managing contracts to achieve strong client satisfaction, resolve contractual issues, manage billing and invoicing, and support international business development efforts.

Qualifications

  • At minimum, MA/MS/MBA or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years’ work experience in international business development, product or sales analytics, business intelligence, sales operations, business operations and/or strategy/financial consulting, particularly in a technology company.
  • Candidates are expected to have an instinctive understanding of client needs, and deep comfort in operating in different cultures and business settings.
  • Distinctive problem solving and analysis skills, ability to solve complex and diverse business problems (commercial, operational, organizational).
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation and management.
  • Exceptional analytical and systems-level problem solving skills.
  • Candidates that have previous experience in working in the AI/ML sector are highly desired.
  • Candidates that have a strong leadership in an academic, professional, or extracurricular setting are highly preferred.
