Director of Business Development - Intelligence Community (IC)

What You’ll Do:Â
Slingshot Aerospace is seeking a Director of Business Development - Intelligence Community (IC). This role will lead the identification, qualification and pursuit of new business opportunities within the IC and across multiple agencies including the National Reconnaissance Office, Central Intelligence Agency, and others.Â
You must demonstrate a deep understanding of the IC along with partner agencies including organizational structure, mission priorities, pain points, classified structures, procurement and acquisition methodologies, and the competitive landscape. You will leverage this knowledge to develop customer and partner qualified leads, engagement plans, and provide thought leadership across the market.Â
Position Responsibilities:Â
- Executes all position responsibilities in alignment with Slingshot’s core values, mission, and purpose.Â
- Cultivates trust between employees, customers, and the space community to maximize customer and employee engagement and retention.Â
- Leads Slingshot’s Business Development focused on the U.S. Intelligence Community aligned with company vision and business objectivesÂ
- Creates, implements, optimizes and sustains predictable, repeatable, and scalable new business and existing client revenue growth processesÂ
- Identifies, generates, and qualifies new business opportunities to build and sustain a robust and qualified intelligence and security opportunity pipeline.Â
- Develops, grows, and fosters trusted customer and partner relationshipsÂ
- Pioneers and implements strategies that identify, qualify, and advances leads, drives opportunity conversion, bid and proposal efforts, and wins new business in support of robust and rapid organic growth in the Intelligence CommunityÂ
- Creates strategies to influence and shape customer requirements and acquisition strategies.Â
- In partnership with key internal stakeholder teams (e.g., program, product, engineering, science, marketing, etc.) develops responses for requests for information (RFIs), market surveys, white papers, presentations, customer briefings, and customer demonstrationsÂ
- Performs other duties as assigned (to be less than 10% of the responsibilities listed above).Â
Pre-RequisitesÂ
- This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a U.S. citizen with at least an active Top Secret/SCI level clearance and eligible to obtain and maintain additional levels of security clearance if necessary.Â
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the timeÂ
Minimum RequirementsÂ
- Active TS/SCI with current polygraphÂ
- Previous experience working with or in the U.S. Intelligence Community and respective acquisition organizations is essential.Â
- Proven track record of identifying and closing on new business opportunities in relevant U.S. intelligence program areas.Â
- Working knowledge of U.S. Government contracting, contract types and procurement processesÂ
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work/intelligence/military experience.Â
- 10+ years of related marketing and business development experience.Â
- Demonstrable knowledge of the U.S. Intelligence Communityor an agency within the community with direct client management experience in at least one branch of the armed services.Â
- Strong customer and industry relationships within the Intelligence Communityand across multiple agencies to drive business growth.Â
- Proven organization, budget, acquisition, and business development experience in the intelligence community.Â
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate U.S. Intelligence Community missions, needs and requirements into business opportunities.Â
- Proven leadership and management skills and demonstrated ability to build relationships within the U.S. intelligence community, work as part of a highly dynamic team and lead through influence at all levels of the organization.Â
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the ongoing changes in the national security space mission area and respective organizational environment
- Familiarity with the roles and organization of the U.S. Intelligence Community and related mission areas.Â
- Working knowledge of the Shipley capture and proposal process or similar proven business development/capture methodology.Â
- 25% Travel RequiredÂ
Preferred QualificationsÂ
- Experience working with domestic branches of the militaryÂ
- Experience working with intelligence agencies in allied countriesÂ
