This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Business Development – Northeast Region based in the United States.

This leadership role is responsible for driving regional sales strategy and execution across a high-growth, technically complex electronics and connectivity market. You will oversee business development initiatives, manage and mentor a high-performing sales team, and ensure consistent revenue growth across the Northeast territory. The position plays a critical role in expanding market presence, strengthening customer relationships, and aligning cross-functional efforts to achieve commercial objectives. You will operate in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment where data, KPIs, and strategic planning guide decision-making. The role requires strong commercial acumen, leadership capability, and the ability to translate strategy into measurable sales outcomes. It is well-suited for a hands-on sales leader who thrives on growth, accountability, and cross-organizational collaboration.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the development and execution of regional business development strategies to achieve revenue targets and long-term growth objectives across the Northeast territory.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing outside sales and business development team, ensuring alignment with performance expectations and customer engagement standards.
  • Drive pipeline growth and revenue expansion by identifying new market opportunities and strengthening relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
  • Establish and maintain strong cross-functional collaboration with marketing, operations, product, and leadership teams to support execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on sales performance metrics, KPIs, and forecasting accuracy to senior leadership.
  • Design and implement structured sales processes, compensation plans, and performance frameworks aligned with business goals and industry best practices.
  • Lead customer and internal business reviews to identify growth opportunities, improve forecasting, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Ensure effective resource planning and productivity optimization across people, tools, and systems to maximize commercial performance.
  • Champion a high-performance, customer-centric culture focused on accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement.

  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
    • 10+ years of experience in business development or sales leadership, including managing teams responsible for significant revenue generation (typically $50M+).
    • Proven track record of driving consistent revenue growth and achieving or exceeding annual growth targets.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills, with demonstrated ability to recruit, coach, and develop high-performing sales teams.
    • Deep understanding of CRM/ERP systems and sales analytics tools, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
    • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking ability, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and performance improvement.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities, operate under pressure, and deliver results in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
    • Customer-centric mindset with strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
