Job Summary:

Director of Marketing, Americas - is responsible for leading a team of regional omni-channel marketing managers leading regional go-to-market for Americas across the 4Ps of marketing. He/she will establish instore and online channel marketing strategies and tactical plans partnering with sales and product business unit teams to maximize sell-in and sell-through to achieve our commercial revenue and market share goals within our key consumer retail, mobile operator, travel, and eCommerce channels. He/she ensures that the Belkin product assortment is placed in stores and online at the best possible placements for success and that the product content, messaging, merchandising, POP, will enable prospects to attract, engage, and purchase our products for our key categories. The director will partner closely with the global marketing and communications, and regional product management, and regional sales teams to establish the marketing mix investments tied to annual new product launches, device updates, promotions and paid media to drive demand and convert customers at key moments of evaluation both instore and online. He/she will partner with Sales and PM, Finance to build core and new growth categories across retail, mobile carriers, travel, and eCommerce channels. Additionally, he/she will work closely with internal global brand and product marketing team members to ensure that the brand identity and product value propositions are communicated effectively and cohesively to key account customers and end-consumers through omni-retail marketing vehicles (retailer websites, media, in-store sales associates, display, focal points, and packaging). This position requires strong analytical and customer-centric messaging capabilities, project management skills, team leadership, and cross-functional relationship building skills.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Annual omni-channel marketing plan: Establish an annual strategy for retailer channel/account success and ensure team members create and receive approval on annual account plans that support the stated goals of the annual strategy.
  • Promotions & Media: Support execution of national account promotions in marketing campaigns, paid performance media, set-up pre and post and test and learn analyses, and report out learnings and scale the tactics both internally/externally.
  • Account Merchandising plans: Plan with sales team to maximize in-store merchandising opportunities for key product categories. Work with Creative and Marketing on creative guidelines. Ensure team is developing plans by account that optimize our presence in store, timelines are met, and expenses come in at/under budget. Also focus on online content as well, ensuring Belkin has the best possible online assets at all retailer sites.
  • Account specific growth initiatives: work your team and sales to support pitches for sell-in, and lead key initiatives to grow sell-through across retailer advertising, retail training, field marketing, account events/programs. Weigh the costs and benefits of each program and determine which ones to allocate resource to.
  • Develop requirements and budget guidance for activities, get buy-in and approval from leadership. Ensure team owns project management responsibilities for the activities.
  • Sell through: Responsible for growing account sell through goals. Leads demand generation programs, its investments, and its performance. Track performance and work with sales analytics to report on progress and determine drivers of success or gaps versus goals.
  • Digital Marketing & eCommerce: hands on experience marketing on digital and ecommerce channels to drive commerce, with deep understanding of key levers of traffic and conversion and AOV drivers and understanding of marketing through technology.
  • Agile Marketing: through testing, learning, scaling, through continuous experimentation.
  • Experience with online marketing at the tier 1 retailers (Best Buy, Target, Walmart) and eCommerce marketplaces (Amazon).
  • Hands-on management of paid performance media channels driving efficiency and effective outcomes through paid social, search, display, and retail-media.
  • Experience with business to business (B2B) distribution and reseller channel marketing including demand generation campaigns, partner engagement and content best practices.

  • Team leadership: Director of Channel Marketing owns leading and developing a team of people to be successful. Establishing clear goals, timelines, providing timely feedback and creating a strong sense of team and purpose.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned and required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience in a similar role or related work experience within consumer electronics or consumer packaged goods industry.
  • 7 years experience in both instore retail and online retail digital marketing and eCommerce.
  • Background in working with resellers and distributors.
  • Experience influencing and partnering with cross-functional channel sales and product management teams.
  • A strategic leader who has created and articulated strategies and tactical plans for their business that have resulted in significant business improvements.
  • Proven capability in turning consumer insights into marketing plans.
  • Prior background in brand management with new product experience is a plus.
  • Four-year college degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, or similar program. MBA highly preferred.
  • Domestic travel may be required.

The starting base salary for this position is:

$145,000

Factors such as geographic location, academic credentials, relevant experience, and specific knowledge, skills and abilities will influence the actual salary offered. In addition to a competitive market-based salary, compensation also includes a performance-based bonus, and in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
