The Role

Our studio is looking for a Director of Communications who is a gamer at heart and wants to bring exceptional entertainment to millions of players. As the Director of Communications, you will be responsible for leading and building the global communications ecosystem for our unannounced multiplayer game and Firewalk Studios. You will provide the vision for the global communications strategy across a team of PR, social, community, and influencer experts. You will partner with our top-tier development team and publishing partner from day one, supporting the studio in delivering a world-class multiplayer experience.

What You Will Do
  • Direct the overarching brand narrative and communications strategy for Firewalk and its projects, inclusive of PR, community, social media, editorial, digital, and beyond.
  • Partner with publisher and studio teams to define project pillars and develop global marketing campaigns supported by integrated comms plans that span the full lifecycle of the product, from incubation through release and post-launch.
  • Build and manage a team of community, influencer, PR, and social media experts that drive our communication with players, press, and content creators across owned channels and earned and paid media.
  • Oversee the creation of all studio and project communications and documentation, such as core messaging, press releases, fact sheets, Q&As, spokesperson training materials, blog posts, social media copy, crisis comms, and more.
  • Identify and develop studio and project spokespeople by defining best practices, organizing training sessions, and providing ongoing advisory and support.
  • Create a KPI, reporting, and analytics frameworks that define performance across all communications verticals and yield critical insights to development and publishing partners.
  • Collaborate with studio and publishing teams on the creative and production of digital assets, such as trailers, cutdowns, graphics, screenshots, key art, and other materials.
  • Provide thought-leadership and vision for our community and digital teams to successfully:
    -Design and build a global community operations strategy that will foster long-term relationships with our player community.
    -Champion and create industry-leading community engagement campaigns and creative content that excites and delights players.
    -Facilitate a growing, active ecosystem of influencers and content creators.
    -Monitor community conversations and provide insights to refine development features and social engagement efforts.
  • Work with analytics and game development team to evaluate player lifecycle and help build effective CRM content strategies.
  • Partner with licensors to drive authentic brand engagement within the community and game.
  • Serve as a project and studio spokesperson at trade shows, media events, and in owned channel content, as needed.

Qualifications
  • You have shipped multiple successful AAA titles from start to finish, including live game experiences.
  • Experience in PR and community campaign planning and execution across multi-channel efforts with external partners and publishers.
  • You have deep knowledge of social media platforms and how to best optimize campaigns for organic growth as well as paid media activations.
  • The ability to present communications strategies and recommendations to senior executives led by insights and expert recommendations.
  • Bring international experience with a deep understanding of the global player audience.
