Role & Responsibilities
The Director of Content Marketing is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and execution of comprehensive content strategy. This role owns all facets of the content marketing strategy from conceptualization to execution and reporting. The Director of Content Marketing works cross-departmentally, identifying all content marketing opportunities that communicate the Apty perspective to drive engagement across the entire funnel.
- Developing a complete content marketing vision and strategy.
- Accountable for overseeing all content marketing initiatives across all channels to drive traffic, engagement and leads that deliver sales and customer retention
- Works closely with in-house creative team, demand generation team, product marketing team, product team, customer success team, revenue operations team, and marketing operations team to contribute to campaign development, sales enabling assets and overall marketplace awareness of Apty.
- Work with designers, product marketing, external influencers and industry experts to develop thought leadership/engaging content that provides value to our prospects and customers.
- Implements an efficient content development process that maximizes resource capacity including managing external agencies and freelancers.
- Creates and executes with a holistic approach that covers multiple solutions and buyer personas.
- Create an editorial calendar, delegate tasks, and ensure deadlines are met
- Maps content delivery against the entire identified buying journey
- Maintains alignment to the Apty brand tone and voice and provides an editorial eye when crafting high-level campaign themes while also writing and producing content alongside subject matter experts (SMEs) and external resources.
- Create a framework that drives the decision-making process as it relates to content development and syndication.
- Identify new opportunities through A/B testing content assets such as landing pages, email campaigns, messaging, etc. Take an iterative approach to generate repeatable processes and success.
- Design a comprehensive content repository to map, house, and serialize content based on current and future goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Strong operational mindset to manage and monitor individual and team tasks and deadlines
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Strong writing and editing skills, design and video experience a plus
- Ability to handle multiple projects while working cross-functionally to meet both short-term and long-term goals
- Analytical abilities are needed to gather and analyze key insights and metrics. Apply these findings to create a long-term vision to scale the content marketing program
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to communicate horizontally and vertically across the organization
- 5+ Years of experience overseeing B2B SaaS content marketing programs preferred
- Proven work experience as a Content marketing manager
- Managed freelance and contractor resources
- Ability to predict audience preferences with an editorial mindset
- A firm understanding of user experience and strong search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) skills are preferred
- Well-documented and ordered portfolio of work
- Ability to work cross-culturally with a global marketing team across time zones
