Director of Continuous Improvement
Job Description
The Director of Continuous Improvement will be responsible for creating a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence through LEAN frameworks and efficient processes to enable long-term profitability across a global organization.
Reporting to the VP, Operations and Engineering, the Director of Continuous Improvement will lead a team of lean practitioners and manufacturing engineers focused on shaping and scaling our long-term growth as BAF continues to evolve. Your innovative leadership will help us think differently and shape BAF's trajectory by working with senior leadership to define strategy, success metrics, and the supporting details of our long-term growth plans.
Responsibilities
- Build and implement Lean Transformation to increase productivity, build proficiency, increase utilization, and drive efficient operations, all with a continuous improvement culture and mindset.
- Cultivate and scale a world-class operations organization through the development, implementation, and ongoing iteration of capabilities built around operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, customer retention, and team member retention.
- Create an environment of innovation and continual improvement to re-imagine how Big Ass Fans defines and delivers customer experiences.
- Build a lean culture of continuous improvement by implementing scalable best practices and ongoing programs to enable teams to maximize their efficiency and simplify how they work.
- Build an innovative and inspiring "coaching culture" where diverse team members can thrive in an inclusive environment. Work with direct team and cross-functional partners to set and improve metric-based goals; consistently drive teams towards higher performance and quality expectations.
- Support cross-functional teams on their continuous improvement journey by guiding them through an understanding of Lean /Six-Sigma concepts, Kaizen events, and other process improvement methods to drive key KPIs in cost, delivery, and quality.
- Drive adoption of Lean Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma including KPI definition and standardization principles.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in quality, manufacturing, engineering, or technical services
- Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification preferred
- Strong financial acumen, experience in calculating cost-benefit analysis and ROI
- Success leading cross-functional projects involving executive leadership as well as support staff and operations associates
- Data analysis and predictive modeling experience; ability to execute complex analyses and synthesize them into a storyline to socialize, influence, and drive action across the organization
- Deep understanding and/or experience in lean production systems, process excellence, and performance improvement tools, techniques, and concepts
- Excellent written and communication skills to enable interactions at various levels within the organization
