Director of Data & Analytics, Reuters
Job Description
- Defining, developing, and implementing a holistic data strategy for Reuters, encompassing editorial, sales, marketing, and product.
- Managing processes and people responsible for accurate data collection, processing, modeling, analysis, reporting and governance of data.
- Utilizing advanced data modeling, predictive modeling, and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from data and leveraging insights to drive business outcomes.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Director of Data and Analytics, you will:
- Leads cross functional teams including data engineers, data scientists and insight analysts and projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that guide business decisions.
- Builds, develops, and maintains data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions.
- Designs and builds analytical processes to address business issues.
- Oversees the design and delivery of reports and insights to aid understanding of key operating and performance metrics.
- Manages and optimizes processes for data intake, validation, mining, and engineering.
- Examines, interprets, and reports results of analytical initiatives to leadership and stakeholders.
- Develops and implements quality controls and standards to ensure quality while meeting organizational expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Organizes and drives successful completion of data insight initiatives.
- Creates measurement plans, reports, and analysis for key initiatives.
- Communicates results and business impacts of insight initiatives.
- Collaborates with the data & analytics teams from other Thomson Reuters business units to leverage enterprise-wide synergies and best practices.
Key Deliverables
- Analytics strategy (short and long term) for Reuters that will drive business outcomes
- Governance and framework that delivers structured/consistent reporting across Reuters
- Accuracy of data and analytical models
- Provide insights and analysis to help executive stakeholders make data-enabled decisions with exceptional communication skills that translate findings into actionable business terms.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Director of Data and Analytics if your background includes:
- Proven experience and demonstrated success as a data and analytics subject matter expert
- Extensive technical background on the development and deployment of advanced analytics
- Experience and knowledge of analytical concepts, statistical techniques, and data modeling
- Deep understanding of technology and tools needed to collect, analyze, and visualize data
- Ability to ask the right questions that need to be answered to drive improvement
- Highly skilled at relentlessly prioritizing to deliver business outcomes while balancing all stakeholder input
- Strong business, financial and commercial acumen
- Demonstrated success performing within a large, matrixed, global organization
