Director of Data & Platform Engineering

Accrete is looking for a Director of Engineering, responsible for leading the Data and Platform group. Accrete's Data and Platform Engineering team architects, builds, manages, and is otherwise responsible for all of Accrete's data storage, data workflows and pipelines, artificial intelligence, and machine learning implementations, infrastructure as a service offering, continuous integration, and continuous deployment processes. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Director of Data and Platform Engineering will work closely with senior leaders of Accrete's Knowledge, Product Management, Finance, and Information Security departments, as well as with technical leads and architects from across Engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of highly-talented Platform Engineers, supporting Accrete cloud operations, continuous integration and deployment, development operations, and infrastructure-as-a-service
• Lead a team of highly-talented Data Engineers, supporting Accrete data workflows, including batch processing, streaming analytics, data warehousing, graph analytics, artificial intelligence deployment
• Develop and execute a strategic direction for the Platform Engineering and Data Engineering teams as relates to the Accrete company strategy
• Champion Platform Engineering and Data Engineering interests at the executive level
• Dive into code on an as-needed basis to support the team with hands-on delivery

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data engineering
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in big data, using technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka or equivalent
• 5+ years people management experience, including 3+ years of experience managing multiple teams
• Expertise with data-oriented programming languages such as Python, Scala, Clojure, Julia or similar
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment best practices
• Knowledge of contemporary best practices for infrastructure-as-code for cloud-native deployments using Docker, k8s, and related technologies
• Excellent communication skills to relate to employees at all levels of the organization
• Enthusiasm, energy, and optimism about the future of artificial intelligence and the desire to build incredible AI products

The base salary range for this position is: $220,000 - $240,000 USD
