SecurityScorecard is hiring for a Director of Data Science. You’ll lead a team that’s responsible for data science projects that directly affect Security Scorecard’s business.

We’re looking for a candidate who is business and results focused and who can work with other teams (Product, Solutions Architects, Engineering, etc.) to deliver projects on time.

The position is fully remote and we will employ candidates anywhere in the US or Canada. It reports to the VP of Data Science and Data Quality.

Qualifications and background

  • PhD in relevant quantitative discipline.
  • 5+ years data science experience.

Leadership requirements

  • 2+ years as a manager with 3+ direct reports, including at least one pay and performance review cycle.
  • Solid recruitment experience.
  • Proven track record of on-time project delivery, including non-technical projects. Demonstrated ability to take projects from concept through to implementation.
  • Proven record of working with other teams, including non-technical teams, for example, Customer Success, Solutions Architects, Product etc.
  • Ability to get things done in a corporate environment.

Skills

  • Strong experience with typical Python cloud-based data science stack.
  • Strong experience with all aspects of machine learning, including techniques such as XGBoost, neural nets, SVM etc.
  • Strong statististics, including use of confidence intervals, familiarity with distributions like Poisson, knowledge of statistical testing procedures etc.
  • Excellent communicator in spoken and written English.
  • Use of project management tools (e.g. Kanban boards) to track projects to completion.
