What you will be doing:
The Business Development team is responsible for ensuring the financial sustainability of the organization. This team fosters and retains partnerships with donors, corporate entities, foundations and other key stakeholders. This team develops strategies and partnerships to diversify our revenue streams and impact. This important work enables Crisis Text Line to build an empathetic world where nobody feels alone.
This position will spearhead our major philanthropic fundraising strategy and support in generating relationships with all donors and foundations who care about mental health. These efforts will help spread awareness for our cause, generate revenue, and save lives.  We’re looking for someone with a passion for mental health or crisis counseling, empathy, and grit, who brings innovation, leadership, and a polished approach to stewardship.Â

Own philanthropic giving and pipelineÂ
- Create a pipeline and oversee partnerships with potential individual supporters, foundations and grant opportunities to drive significant revenue that meets and exceed philanthropic revenue goals
- Create and execute philanthropic fundraising strategy, including planning towards short and long-term goals
- Support CEO and CBDO with Principal Funders with written materials for core proposals and meeting preparation
- Develop a long-term-vision to understand our investors current giving patterns and opportunities
- Provide oversight to all philanthropic grants including working cross-functionally across tech, marketing, and research
- Work closely with our research and marketing teams to oversee Philanthropic materials including marrketing materials around Giving Season and key giving moments
- Evolve and establish new methods, systems and practices as needed
- Create projections for Chief Business Officer that support our overall revenue strategy
Close, retain, and grow philanthropic relationshipsÂ
- Identify high net worth donors who are passionate about mental health. Work closely with CEO and CBDO to steward and close these relationships
- Determine retention strategy to keep CTL’s cause close to donors’ hearts- including developing cadence of impactful comms with support from our marketing team
- Organize and execute grant reporting for foundations to illustrate the impact we’ve made together.
- Work alongside finance and research to track and report on grant spend.
- Set clear, impact focused individual goals for Philanthropy team including grant writer and Junior Fundraiser
- Provide consistent and actionable performance feedback
- Intentionally support professional development
What you bring to the table:
- 7+ years of experience driving philanthropic development.
- Intermediate understanding of the philanthropy landscape
- Basic experience working in tech or tech-forward non-profit space
- You are results oriented. You naturally take big goals and break them down into achievable wins.
- You are organized and you prioritize and manage your time efficiently.
- You communicate clearly and effectively in meetings and over email. You stay focused and concise while managing multiple projects. You’re warm and positive - other people look forward to meetings with you.
- You work well cross-functionally and manage your team with empathy.
- You have the ability to successfully integrate diverse ideas into business frameworks and strategies.Â
- You foster belonging across all groups consisting of a variety of skills, experiences, values, and cultures.
Reliable High-Speed Internet Required: Must have a stable high-speed internet connection to support seamless remote collaboration, virtual meetings, online job tasks, etc.
Salary Range:Â $103,000 - $151,000
This range is provided by Crisis Text Line. Your actual pay will be based on your skills, experience, location, and applicable law (such as local minimum wage laws). We pay competitively in the tech-forward nonprofit space and offer a robust benefits package.
