Description

The Director, Product Development will lead a team of Developers, Architects and Quality Assurance experts who are responsible for developing products, both home-grown and via licensed software solutions. This position reports to the Chief Digital Officer.

This position owns the delivery of enhancements to software products. This position mentors software and quality assurance developers to deliver solutions in an efficient and innovative way. This leader will interface with Sales, Marketing, Digital, Customer Success and IT leadership and other key Cambria leaders using their strong technology acumen to understand and delineate the priorities of digital technologies delivered. This position mentors their team in a manner that highlights innovation, attention to detail, a sense of urgency, strategic and architecturally sound thinking, and an awareness of how the team's success in carrying out their mission has an impact on Cambria.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Foster technological innovation, modernization, and enable deep technical expertise including specialized technology areas (Mobile, Cloud, APIs, Optimization Technologies, Data Driven Solutions, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Business and IT Leadership, Product Management, Architects and Product Owners to align development activities with strategic needs and plans.
  • Collaborating across teams to assure Systems of Record, Systems of Differentiation and Systems of Innovation are aligned to the needs of the market-facing teams and positioned for future needs.
  • Manage and grow a team of development and architecture resources to foster leading best practices in development, quality assurance, documentation, and product release.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with development and software partners to assure effective utilization of resources, and delivery of software, products and tools that meet the needs of the organization.
  • Define and measure the efficacy KPIs of development resources with the goal of optimizing throughput, efficiency, quality and return on investment/effort.
  • Manage product lifecycle in partnership with Architects and Product Owners from estimation to release and sprint planning, development, quality assurance and release.
  • Passion and expertise for rapid delivery of flexible and responsive software solutions.
  • Integrate the people, processes and tools to develop best of breed solutions for Cambria that are scalable and maintainable.
  • Maintain documentation for product development disciplines that is used to direct successful product development by internal staff and appropriate external resources.


Requirements

  • Proven track record of successfully leading software development teams that deliver high quality and innovative software and data solutions with a mobile-first approach.
  • Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban. Familiarity and experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), ALM toolsets (Cambria uses Jira), collaboration software (such as Slack, G-Suite, and Confluence), a plus.
  • Experience managing software developers in a manner that leverages management experience and tools to report and track productivity and value of the development team.
  • Expertise in implementing and maintaining a technical documentation repository that is easily adopted by a spectrum of constituents.
  • Experience with automation tools that enhance code delivery, quality assurance and application acceleration.
  • Experience interfacing with user experience resources to deliver efficient and effective application solutions.
  • Comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing, results-oriented work environment
  • Experience working collaboratively to facilitate the delivery of world-class software
  • Deep experience engaging with Product Owners and Business Users in feature negotiation to identify the right approach and timing to address customer requirements.
  • Experience in hiring and mentoring IT team members.
  • Experience overseeing and delivering web service development and deployment, with a specific focus on microservices-based architectures.
  • Excellent written, oral and group presentation communication skills including the ability to articulate solutions in many formats so that they are consumable by development teams, business stakeholders, and audiences external to Cambria.


Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related technical degree or equivalent experience

Experience: Minimum of 10 years delivering technology solutions while leading developers and architects through solution delivery.

Systems: Extensive experience with agile product delivery with building solutions using the modern web development three-tier technology stack. Experience with technologies such as .NET, React, Angular and platforms such as Wordpress, Adobe Experience Cloud, and Salesforce. Experience with digital asset management and product information systems. Experience with analytics tagging and attribution techniques and strategies.

Travel Requirements:Limited travel required, likely will be 10% or less annually
