Connected Communities is the social impact arm of WinnCompanies' affordable and mixed-income housing development and management organization, working to ensure their communities are stable, connected, and empowered through the development and scaling of promising practices and programs that result in measurable, positive outcomes for residents. Connected Communities seeks an innovative, experienced leader for its Director of Economic Mobility position, a new role established to create, implement, and scale promising programs centered on the economic stability and mobility of affordable housing residents.

As a core part of the Connected Communities Corporate team, the Director of Economic Mobility partners with our clients, service partners and internal departments to oversee, support and foster the growth of promising Economic Mobility practices and programs, including the HUD Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS).

The Director of Economic Mobility will have a strong "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude and lead with the following qualifications and experiences:
1) Experience leading collaborative and diverse teams;
2) Proven success in scaling innovative programs;
3) A strong collaborator and relationship manager;
4) Adeptness at managing complex projects with strong prioritization skills.

The ideal candidate will be energized by creating strong working relationships with partners, department leads, and our clients to execute on the strategic Economic Mobility goals of Connected Communities, while also refining program models to ensure resident and community accessibility and success through realized outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and be accountable to Connected Communities' key performance indicators for the HUD multifamily FSS program collaborative.
  • Work collaboratively with our owner clients and FSS financial coaching partners to establish and build strong working relationships that result in both the success of the FSS program and other economic mobility initiatives as developed.
  • Maintain a strong and deep knowledge of each participating FSS program and ensure compliance with HUD guidelines and all contractual obligations for participating clients and our FSS financial coaching partners.
  • Regularly provide reporting, data analysis and insight into operations to inform program refinement, growth and the expansion of FSS and other economic mobility programs and opportunities. Act as the lead point of contact for all owner clients participating in these programs to provide relevant program progress updates.
  • Meet regularly with WinnCompanies’ compliance team leadership and FSS subsidy coordinator to receive updates on FSS escrow management, program compliance, and program changes. Anticipate and mitigate risks to the implementation of the FSS program and other economic mobility programs, including streamlining and simplifying the volume of work between WinnCompanies and our owner clients and partners.
  • Maintain a system to oversee/ensure all required reporting, program data, invoicing, and budget meets the needs of HUD, clients, and grantors.
  • Create and implement a strategic plan to support the scaling of the HUD FSS and other economic mobility programs through WinnCompanies' portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5-8 years relevant work experience.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) program and its partners.
  • Advanced computer skills to provide technical support in functional area.
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business or finance.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model between remote/in-person: based in Boston. Fully remote is possible with some travel responsibilities to site locations (10%).
