Director of Engineering
Job Description
At Pangea Money Transfer, we are dedicated to building the world’s best platform for consumers to transfer money internationally by reducing the cost and pain points of money transfer while maintaining high reliability and security standards.
Pangea is seeking a software engineering leader to manage and build our growing engineering team. You will report to the SVP of Engineering and be responsible for overseeing the development teams responsible for our core consumer facing platform and mobile apps. Our apps are developed in Swift, Kotlin and ReactJS, and our background platform is developed in C#/.NET and hosted in AWS.
Responsibilities:Â
- Manage multiple engineering managers, each managing teams of cross functional engineers responsible for delivery of roadmap initiatives.
- Manage interactions and dependencies between engineering teams.
- Collaborate with product team leadership to define roadmaps, ensure readiness of roadmap initiatives and manage their timely delivery to meet business goals.
- Provide regular concise and insightful updates on roadmap delivery status to Pangea’s executive leadership.
- Hire and retain managers and engineers. Assess talent of candidates. Drive hiring process.
Requirements:Â
- BS or MS degree in computer science or a related degree.
- 12+ years of experience in software development and management roles.
- Experience manging engineers and managers of engineers for 5+ years.
- Experience building software for external customers on a B2C or B2B platform that interacts with payment systems.
- Familiarity with multiple front end and back end technologies and cloud platforms.
- Ability to build, structure and retain talented engineering teams.
Bonus Points if you have:Â
- Experience managing teams responsible for mobile apps.
- Experience with AWS.
