The Position:
As a Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the Diamond group, which is a group of teams dedicated to delivering value and guaranteeing the success of baseball and softball users. You will manage multiple Engineering Managers who direct a team of iOS, Android, and Fullstack Engineers. You will work closely with cross-functional team members, mainly Product Directors, and report to our VP of Engineering.
What You'll Do:
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies for adoption and manage vendor relationships.Â
- Drive technical strategy on your teams and be accountable for the outcomes.
- Help define and evangelize high engineering standards across the organization.
- Gain a deep understanding of our product, our market, and the economic side of our business; recruit, maintain, and improve excellent personnel to form a world-class, diverse engineering team; explain the company vision to your team to make them feel more purposeful, and foster a culture of trust, learning, and excellence.Â
- Create strong connections and cooperate with other leaders in the Engineering team and across other departments.
- You are an expert in contemporary Engineering practices like Lean, DevOps, and Agile and can effectively direct your team in executing these principles.Â
- Learn GameChanger’s most successful methods and use your own experiences to help us adjust and improve further.Â
- Take part in and contribute to educational activities about modern software design and development techniques.
Who You Are:
- 10+ years of overall engineering experience, with 5+ years of engineering management experience.
- Experience leading in an agile, fast moving, and rapid change environment.
- Expertise working on and leading teams developing iOS and Android apps, and have led teams that contribute to highly scalable server code.
- A highly skilled communicator and empathetic leader who has a track record of developing your team while delivering business results.
- You have a passion for delivering products with a high bar for quality, time to market, and user experience.
- Bachelor or Masters degree in CS or Engineering a plus.

The target salary range for this position is between $225,000 and $275,000. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes incentive, equity, and benefits for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all teammate pay regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay.
