Good news! 1WorldSync is looking for a Director of Engineering, Innovation and Integration to join our team.
1WorldSync is the industry leader in product content management. With 400 employees across the US, Brazil, Canada, France, Portugal, Switzerland, and the UK, we're seeking a Director of Engineering, Innovation and Integration to support our growing global team.
Reporting directly to our Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the Director of Engineering, Innovation and Integration will be tasked with building products and components aligned to the growth plans of 1WorldSync. The Director will work closely with the CTO and key stakeholders across the company to execute the strategic priorities of the company.
As Director of Engineering, Innovation and Integration at 1WorldSync, responsibilities include the following:
- Research Strategy - Developing and implementing a strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives, and is focused on driving innovation in product development to drive 1WorldSync Engineering operating principles
- Product Development - Leading the development of new products and the enhancement of existing products, ensuring that they meet customer needs, are of high quality, and are delivered on time and within budget with overall responsibility for the engineering and architecture alignment of all solutions delivered within releases
- Team Management - Building and leading a high-performing team of research and development professionals by providing direction, guidance, and support to ensure their success as part of multiple development teams. Ensures that team organization, individual development, and communication are in line with the business solution set and broader 1WorldSync vision and objectives
- Risk Management - Identifying and mitigating risks related to product development, ensuring that the organization's products are safe, reliable, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration and Partnership- Collaborating within and across departments, external partners, and vendors to ensure that research and development efforts are aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Innovation and Creativity - Encouraging and promoting innovation across the organization by identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Stakeholder Management - Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including senior executives, business unit leaders, and external partners, to ensure that research and development initiatives are aligned with business goals
- Project Management - Overseeing the delivery of research and development projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Builds development and leadership teams that perform at a high level using various agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban. Fosters inter-team collaboration and productivity with continual process improvement and organizational change to support our core development value. Oversees budgeting for team including tools for software development, for employees and contractors both onshore & off-shore
- Implement KPI & metrics - measures and reports on the execution strategy defined for the team. Execution includes delivery of planned work, with deliverables that meet company standards with respect to quality, scalability, and reliability. Effectively communicates with key stakeholders when either scope or timeline of projects require modification
- Professional Development - Facilitate and encourage development team to perform cross-skilling and knowledge sharing and responsible for ensuring the development teams' overall morale and productivity continue to improve. Manages career progression for team members to include hiring, performance reviews, salary decisions, mentoring, and coaching.
- Industry and Technology Trends - Keeping up-to-date with industry and technology trends and developments, and applying this knowledge to identify opportunities to innovate and improve the organization's product portfolios
Required Skills and Experience:
- BS/BA degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent experience, with advanced degree preferred
- 12+ years of relevant experience with at least 7 years' experience in a leadership role
- 7+ years of experience coding and delivering software as a team member
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience leading teams through cloud adoption a plus
- Strong software engineering and software architecture skills
- Team player with excellent work habits and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Details:
- This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days per week at our Chicago headquarters location.
- This role requires the candidate to have the authority to work in, and be located in the US.
- This position requires up to 5% travel.
