This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Engineering. In this role, you will empower multiple product engineering teams across North America and Latin America, shaping both the technical and organizational direction of the platform. Your leadership will ensure that teams deliver high-quality software while maintaining system health and engineering velocity. As a key figure within the engineering division, you will mentor engineering managers, collaborate with product leadership, and scale processes that enhance team efficiency and effectiveness. This position is pivotal in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and support multiple engineering teams, ensuring consistent delivery and strong technical quality.
  • Define and guide technical architecture and long-term system strategy across the teams.
  • Own and manage technical roadmaps in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Partner closely with Product Management to align engineering strategy with customer needs.
  • Manage backlog, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure clear execution plans.
  • Identify and address blockers to maintain high delivery cadence and speed.
  • Make data-driven decisions and hold teams accountable for outcomes.
  • Measure and improve delivery processes, engineering practices, and team performance.
  • Conduct performance reviews and career development planning for engineering staff.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support operational health and system reliability.
  • Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant time in technical leadership roles.
  • Experience in managing engineering teams and overseeing people management functions.
  • Proven capability to lead high-performing engineering teams delivering reliable software.
  • Hands-on experience with developer tools and driving their adoption within teams.
  • Strong background in technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap management.
  • Ability to partner effectively with Product Management and stakeholders.
  • Experience in agile environments with focus on iterative development and teamwork.
  • Familiarity with supporting globally distributed engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of system reliability and operational excellence at scale.
