Position Overview

Scratchpay is on the lookout for a dynamic Director of Engineering to lead our expanding global team of fully remote product engineering experts. You're a natural leader, able to inspire and drive innovation and success within your engineering teams. In this role, you'll collaborate with talented professionals from around the world, driving innovation and excellence for our elective healthcare platform.

What You'll Do

• Lead and Manage Teams: Reporting to Scratchpay’s CTO, you will oversee multiple product engineering teams that drive our financing, payment, and communications products
• Collaborate for Innovation: Work closely with our Product and Backend Engineering teams to support ongoing innovation in our products and services, ensuring the highest quality deliverables
• Recruit and Grow Talent: Attract top engineering talent and leaders while identifying growth opportunities for team members
• Mentor and Coach: Mentor and coach your engineers, fostering a collaborative environment and working with peers to build healthy, high-performing teams
• Onboarding and Integration: Immerse yourself in our codebase and assist in onboarding new hires to ensure a smooth integration
• Performance Metrics: Develop and implement metrics to measure engineering performance and success
• Ensure Project Success: Monitor team performance, providing guidance and feedback to ensure the success of projects

What We're Looking For

• Seasoned Developer: You have 8+ years of hands-on software development experience
• Team Leader: You bring 5+ years of experience managing full-stack software teams, with a knack for thriving in remote environments
• Technical Expertise: Proficient in Node.js, React, or React Native stacks
• Cloud and Database Pro: Experience with GCP and MySQL or PostgreSQL is a big plus
• Communication Guru: Excellent at communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams across the globe
• Inspirational Leader: Capable of managing and motivating engineering teams to drive innovation and achieve outstanding results
