Job Description
Symmetry Software is the payroll infrastructure for software & payroll platforms powering the paychecks of over 64 million workers each year. Our fully integrated suite of payroll tax APIs and software tools allows companies to solve tax compliance issues and build applications across the entirety of the payroll process.Â
We are looking for an experienced Manager of Enterprise Applications to own a portfolio of mission critical enterprise applications and technology solutions. The Manager of Enterprise Applications is responsible for the architecture, integration, support, maintenance, deployment, compliance, and enhancement of commercial software business applications. This role specifically focuses on ERP, CRM, Customer Success, Support, and other associated business applications. Additionally, the Manager of Enterprise Applications is responsible for planning and overseeing technical development being executed by both internal and vendor led teams while working collaboratively with business units to align technical solutions that meet business goals and objectives. The Manager of Enterprise Applications will be the primary point of contact for internal business and vendor partners.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop, foster, and communicate the establishment of Symmetry Enterprise Applications function including strategies for software deployment, implementation and integration into daily operations.
- Collaborate with business and key technology stakeholders to plan, prioritize, and schedule application development and enhancement requests, while providing direction and guidance to internal and external application development support staff.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, C-Suite, Product, Developers, and other stakeholders to design and deliver effective technology systems and applications.
- Lead brainstorming sessions to develop potential solutions for business needs or problems. Drive internal stakeholder satisfaction by delivering quality applications, integrations, and support with controlled and planned change management. Communicate project status to various levels of management.
- Partner with leaders of other disciplines to ensure proposed solutions align with information, technology, infrastructure, business, and security architectures.
- Provide oversight in standards adherence through reviews of project work including detailed technical specifications and application code.
- Provide leadership and manage the work activities of any direct reports in application solutioning, development, and integrations for Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications that include new solutions and enhancement of existing systems. An interest in staying hands-on technical as well as wearing that team management hat.
Experience & Requirements
- BA/BS degree preferred, and 7+ years of relevant work experience and 3 years managing teams
- Experience working in an ERP or CRM environment with knowledge of the following specific applications preferred: NetSuite, Salesforce, Zendesk, Catalyst Software, HubSpot, DocuSign, etc
- Expertise in business process analysis, requirements gathering, solution design and development, vendor management, enterprise application support (ERP/CRM), and a strong business understanding
- Experience in a management or supervisory role on an application delivery team
- Experience in managing relationships with vendors/consultants, technology teams and internal stakeholders.
- Experience in managing resources that leverage technology solutions such as JavaScript (SuiteScipt or others), Java, Python, SQL, and other cloud based technologies (Celigo, AWS) to integrate business systems
- Ownership mindset with a desire to discover opportunities that improve or optimize existing business processes. A passion for all things tech and a drive to experiment with new technologies to identify areas to drive innovation, business outcomes, and increase customer satisfaction.

- Highly comfortable working with business leaders and other stakeholders

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $154,000/yr to $192,000/yr in Scottsdale & most remote locations, and $199,000/yr - $247,000/yr for San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Symmetry has a physical office space in Scottsdale. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role).
When approved to work from a location other than the office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
