Director of Finance

Our Director of Finance is responsible for the agency’s long-term financial health and growth. They establish strategies that will earn profits, oversee accounting operations, produce accurate reporting and make recommendations for operational efficiencies.

YOUR IMPACT IN THE ROLE:

AGENCY FINANCES

• Drive the financial planning of the agency by analyzing its performance and risks
• Retain constant awareness of the agency’s financial position and act to prevent problems
• Oversee all audit and internal control operations
• Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
• Conduct analysis to make forecasts and deliver informed reports to stakeholders
• Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines
• Manage agency cash flow operations
• Create divisional budgets and proactively monitor

FINANCE ARENA

• Oversee agency’s finance systems and file storage
• Provide on-going coaching and development for a high-functioning team
• Structure arena team for agency needs and proactively identify future resource needs
• Identify talent and hire the right people for the right roles
• Successfully onboard all new team members and provide continued training for the team
• Manage external finance vendors and output delivery
• Ensure strong collaboration with agency Operations and Project Management arenas
• Keep up with current industry trends modern business practices

AGENCY LEADERSHIP

• Help gauge and offer insight into the direction of the agency and contribute to strategic planning across all areas of the business
• Look for opportunities outside of your arena and make shit happen
• Communicate and champion agency initiatives and direction
• Lead by example (hands-on) and inspire confidence and passion
• Check the ego at the door, open to new ideas and treats everyone equally

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Experienced track record in finance for advertising agencies (10 years is a good marker)
• Strong knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
• Confident communicator, able to convey complex ideas to a variety of audiences
• Able to lead a team and coordinate efficient processes
• An analytical mind with strategic ability
• A passion for leading and mentoring others
• Skilled in Netsuite, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools (ie Monday.com)
• Enjoys a digital-only environment
