The Director of Financial Analysis & Planning manages the development and continuous improvement of Nordic's finance processes, financial software and systems, and financial reporting strategies. This role will enhance the ability of internal partners to analyze and respond to key trends, and ensure the integrity and accuracy of Nordic's accounting systems and associated data.

The Director of Financial Analysis will have the following key responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:

  • Directs and oversees the preparation and distribution of all periodic financial statements and reports
  • Responsible for of weekly, monthly, quarterly and Board reports and materials
  • Responsible for coordination, consolidation of monthly actuals, quarterly forecast, annual plans, and long-range strategic plans
  • Designing and developing financial reports and analysis, both routine and ad hoc, to support complex analysis, key operating activities and leadership reporting
  • Designing systems and processes to streamline and automate finance process as it relates to budget, forecast, reporting etc
  • Evaluating and analyzing revenue, cost and profit variances against budget and forecast, identifying significant trends for response by operations management
  • Researching a wide variety of financial and administrative topics for purpose of providing information and/or recommendations to leadership that impact Nordic operations
  • Confirms that entries and transactions are accurately and properly consolidated.
  • Ensures that reports comply with Nordic and parent company guidelines and timelines
  • Advises management of trends and changes in business

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 or more years' experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial concepts
  • Advanced experience in integrated financial systems/software applications (NetSuite a plus) and MS Excel, Power BI
  • Experience utilizing strong intuitive analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization

Additional Details

  • Open to Remote
  • Travel up to 5% (if located in Madison, WI)
  • If located outside of Madison, WI travel up to 10-20% of the time
