GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Director of Giving will be responsible for the direct leadership of community giving, project management, root cause and process optimization of business performance, controls, and operations. Serves as the internal expert on bank giving, while managing day-to-day business priorities and long-term strategic direction. Manages a team responsible for non-sales activities and functions such as: Project Management, Vendor Management and Process Optimization Initiatives. Leads key organizational efforts while building strong, positive relationships across the organization. Partners strategically with a broad variety of internal constituents and senior leaders across Risk Management, Finance, Compliance, Marketing, HR, and Information Technology to achieve organizational objectives.

Day-to-day deliverables include leading the philanthropic strategic framework and execution; lead giving platform development and execution; giving impact reporting and analysis; cultivate national partnerships; industry benchmarking and alignment with best practices; philanthropic industry engagement; lead strategic, customer experience and innovation initiatives for the business with partners (internal and external); create impactful senior level internal and external presentations synthesizing qualitative/quantitative business results; budget management.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strategy, management and development of philanthropic corporate and regional gifts that align with the Fifth Third Foundation, while securing leadership support and buy-in. Build partnership with socially innovative stakeholders and constituents to move the business forward.
• Responsible for overall multicultural engagement strategy, brand awareness, marketing, recruiting, retention and community. Helping to cultivate a customer centric organization that focuses on insights, needs and experience.
• Enterprise project management support for Corporate Social Responsibility, communication & implementation, technology enhancements, etc.
• Metrics/reporting for investment related program and impact.
• Develop strategies and build positive relationships with key partners and stakeholders to consistently improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
• Lead development of long-term customer experience strategy leveraging key partnerships, employees, process, technology, and data.
• Lead strategy and investment on philanthropy, donations and sponsorships for national partnerships or campaigns that enhance the bank's brand and reputation.
• Develop key community giving presentations to senior level internal and external stakeholders
• Develop tactics to bring the customer to life and front and center for the business and organization.
• Analyze complex business problems and make recommendations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback, developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth, developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning, and recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; Major in Business Management, Finance or related field preferred.
• Master's in Business Administration or other Graduate degree preferred.
• Ten or more years of increasing responsibility in the banking industry.
• Background in social responsibility, community development, strategic planning.
• Extremely strong communication (written, oral, and presentation creation and delivery) and interpersonal skills.
• Proven innovative thinking that can drive change throughout the division/organization.
• Proven leadership skills, initiative, and decision-making skills.
• Position requires the ability to establish self as a leader, to not only perform in a leadership role, but to also be recognized by other divisions and business partners as a leader.
• Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to interact well.
• PC proficient in Windows based software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to motivate team, work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently, work under pressure, and be flexible and adaptable to sudden changes in the work environment.
• Demonstrated excellence in building relationships and influencing without authority, across complex, highly matrixed environment.
• Ability to engage professionally and assertively with senior Executives, to garner credibility and sponsorship.
• Excellent analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.
• High level of integrity required for handling confidential information.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Normal Office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.

- Extended viewing of a CRT screen.

- Ability to travel up to 30% including overnight travel.
