Job Description

The Director of Global Reader Revenue, Reuters Professional, will be responsible for driving reader revenue and overall audience engagement/development both on and off platform. About the Role

As our Director of Global Reader Revenue, you will:
  • Analyze audience data to establish the scale of different audience groupings and customer cohorts to inform product development.
  • Develop and execute a global audience strategy
  • Create a strategy and lead Reuters entry into new reader revenue streams
  • Articulate the value of highly-engaged audiences to advertising sales.
  • Partner with product teams to deploy the right tools to build relationships with the Reuters audience (i.e. content personalization and machine learning).
  • Partner with product teams to optimize the on and off platform experience to drive audience acquisition and monetization.
  • Partner with editorial teams and customers to develop, test and launch new content services and products aimed at increasing audience volume and engagement.
  • People management: Guide development of a high performing team ensuring they receive sufficient structured training, monitoring and mentoring as appropriate.
  • Play a core role on Professional leadership team, influencing direction and strategy over time.


Key areas of responsibility include:
  • Serving as the voice and champion of our professional audience.
  • Utilizing data and continual testing to drive continuous improvement in average revenue per user (ARPU) and customer experience metrics.
  • Partnering with editorial and product teams to modify, enhance and create services and products with the goal of increasing audience volume and engagement.
  • Providing the thought leadership and implementation strategy for new revenue streams.


Key Deliverables:
  • Develop an audience proposition with insight to guide product development
  • Devise and deliver a Customer Voice Program across all markets that frequently gathers customer feedback, generates actionable insights and converts to business improvements.
  • Reader revenue and ARPU targets
  • Customer churn and retention targets
  • Customer CPA and LTV targets
  • Continue to test models and solutions with A/B parallel approach
  • Expand and enhance existing offerings (newsletters, verticals, new services)
  • Data driven analysis to continually improve engagement


About You

To be our Reader Revenue Operations Manager, you will have:
  • Proven leadership experience working in the online media sector, ideally with strong record of accomplishments in the news or media sector
  • Proven ability to think strategically about business opportunities and future customer needs in the media industry
  • Ability to work effectively at detailed level with product requirements and delivery against customer needs
  • Proven track record in audience development and acquisition, ideally within an international news or business environment
  • Extensive data analytical skills
  • Proven track record of success working in complex and highly matrixed corporate business environments
  • Experience working in a global company

As required by the New York City Human Rights Law (NYCHRL) for New York City based roles, the base compensation range for this position is $130,200 - $241,800. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
