Job Description
Thyme Care is a value-based oncology management platform that provides personalized, clinically coordinated care to individuals with cancer. Thyme Care pairs human guidance with software and analytics to engage members with a cancer diagnosis , quickly connect them to the right care, and provide ongoing support through targeted, evidence-based interventions. The company’s unique approach establishes deep provider relationships and integrates with a health plan’s existing infrastructure, coordinating value-driven care that leads to better outcomes, lower costs and an improved member experience. Backed with venture funding from Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Alley Corp, Frist Cressey Ventures, Casdin Capital and Bessemer, Thyme Care partners with health insurance plans and providers to extend the reach of high-quality cancer care through flexible value-based payment arrangements, including risk-based programs.
Your mission:
The overarching goal of the Director of Growth is to drive Thyme Care’s revenue growth through partnership with health insurance plans and eventually other risk-bearing entities, such as providers and employers. As our Director of Growth you will be responsible for building and executing our payer go-to-market strategy as well as building a scalable sales operation. You will own and enhance our payer partnership playbook and take learnings from quarterbacking the entire deal cycle with major commercial and Medicare Advantage payers–from prospecting to close–for our novel and complex oncology risk-based arrangements. You’ll work with every part of our organization from finance and operations, to legal and marketing.

- Gotten up to speed on our business, current pipeline, and potential partnerships in the opportunity analysis stage
- Transitioned to owning relationships with plan leadership and managed our internal teams through the deal processÂ
- Become an expert in communicating the value proposition of Thyme Care and distilling complex ideas in clear and simple ways to any audience
- Worked with Thyme Care’s leadership team to develop and refine our payer partnership go-to-market strategy, including identifying priority markets and a strategy to target and sequence those partnerships against timelines Â
- Built an operating plan with support from our growth operations team to evaluate current prospects, identify potential future partners, and pitchÂ
- After 6 months you will have…
- Made several meaningful contributions to enhance our sales process, go-to-market and marketing strategies from your interaction with payers in the marketplace
- Worked closely with marketing and growth operations teams to create sales materials, demand gen programs, and the right campaigns that drive partner revenue Â
- Led at least two health plans through the start of an opportunity analysis process
- After 12 months you will have…
- Closed two new payer deals, with a robust and prioritized pipeline of future partners
- Assessed the opportunity and developed the strategy to sell to other risk-bearing entities like providers and employers
- Supported our VP of Strategic Growth to build and manage the team

- Experience. You have a deep background in enterprise BD for a health tech company and experience closing deals with large health plans. It’s a true bonus if you’ve created deals that have been premised on complex, value-based and risk sharing structures.Â
- Comfort with pace and ambiguity. You have a proven track record of success within scaling businesses, fast-paced environments, and startups. You understand that rapid changes to the business, strategy, organization, and priorities is par for the course.Â
- Comfort with travel. You will be expected to meet with our team in Nashville, New York, and with our partners regularly.
- Biased to action. You’re a self-starter and don’t need anyone to tell you when to do something.Â
- Creative operator. You’ve been called an entrepreneurial, creative thinker who has a history of using a solutions-oriented approach to business development and external stakeholders management.
