Job Description
We are looking for a Director of HR to work in and maintain a regular presence in our Union Station office! The Director of Human Resources is responsible for supporting the culture and all people functions within the organization in the US, NZ, UK, and AU. In this capacity, articulates the company's human resource strategy, manages human capital risks through compliance with the policies and practices of the company as well as governmental laws and regulations, and serves as a member of the Actionstep leadership team.
Responsibilities of this position will include:
- Act as a guardian of the organization's culture
- Participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating models, and operational execution
- Manage & support change initiatives within the organization
- Develop and coach individual managers, teams, and employees
- Support a strong talent leadership culture which permeates the organization as well as a culture that embraces change
- Assist with forecasting talent needs and develop a global talent sourcing strategy
- Assist with addressing talent gaps including overseeing external recruitment and planning
- Assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against relevant comparable companies
- Identify and ensure compliance with legal requirements and governmental reporting affecting the HR functions
- Enhance, develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures to improve the overall effectiveness of the organization including systems to support compliance with all federal, state, and local employment practices
- Oversee the HRIS and related databases within the organization
- Promote feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement of the organization and its culture
- Establish personal and departmental credibility throughout the organization and be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues
- Recommend appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources in support of employee relations, employee complaints, external education, and career development
- Establish and maintain wage and salary structures, pay policies, and performance appraisal programs
- Manage the health and benefits programs to balance dual goals of cost containment while providing suitable motivation and rewards for effective performance
- Maintain compensation and benefits programs to provide appropriate incentives and rewards for effective performance
Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration; BBA preferred and five (5) years of experience serving in a senior leadership role in human resources; or seven (7) years of experience in HR; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of human resources management
- Knowledge & understanding of employment laws and other governmental compliance regulations
- Experience managing international HR and employment compliance
- Strong business and acumen
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and guide all financial aspects of human capital management
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization; confident public speaker
- Ability to communicate and work with a diverse set of stakeholders including employees, board of directors, government agencies and regulatory authorities
- Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and superior interpersonal skills
- Experience partnering with CEO and executive teams
- Knowledge of Actionstep's software products, services, and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge
- Demonstrated technical aptitude to use various software / systems
- Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
- Strong written and communication skills; excellent facilitator who is experienced in fostering consensus and resolving conflicts
- SPHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred. Global HR Certification a plus.
- Valid Driver's License

Salary range from $100,000 to $140,000
