Position: Director of Human Resources
Location: Huntersville, NC

Duties, Responsibilities and Skills:

  • The Director of Human Resources/Business Partner drives and manages the human resources strategic direction and acts as a business partner supporting operations in 4 states.
  • This position partners with management to ensure all human resources needs are met and will report to the VP of Human Resources.
  • The Director, Human Resources will evaluate the status and productivity of human resources programs and recommend changes to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Serve others with understanding, respect, and care.
  • Organize, prioritize, and own multiple tasks while meeting or exceeding deadlines and will work with the HRSSC.
  • Above all you will be expected to carry out all your activities with reliability, integrity, compliance and in a safe, environmentally responsible, efficient manner, and work with the Corporate EH&S Manager.
  • Develop organizational strategies by identifying and researching human resource issues and providing recommendations to establish human resources objectives that are in line with business objectives.
  • Lead special projects to drive, influence and support the cultural and people aspects of organizational change, structures, people processes and business improvement initiatives that reflect the business strategy.
  • Partner with leaders by providing human resources advice and counsel in handling people’s decisions.
  • Partner with client group to support the safety culture through return-to-work process management, safe environment, loss avoidance, and safety training.
  • Will work with the HRSSC to manage compliance programs, including but not limited to, EEO, unemployment, AAP, litigation, retention, termination, turnover, and severance issues.
  • Implement human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance, and labor relations.
  • Utilize talent management systems to support an inclusive and diverse culture.
  • Drive to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of HR service delivery.

Basic Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • Deliver results in first-time situations by inspiring others and working to earn trust every day.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum ten years of human resource management experience required with increased levels of responsibility and accountability.
  • Prior multi-site manufacturing/production experience in large scale heavily matrixed organization.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining positive employee and labor relations programs, policies and procedures.
  • Experience in interpreting collective bargaining agreements, grievance management and assisting management with labor matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive working relationships at all levels in the organization.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Experience using ADP.
  • Ability to travel 30%.
