Director of HV Operations

This leadership role is responsible for driving the strategy, execution, and performance of high-voltage operations supporting large-scale energy infrastructure projects across the United States.
You will oversee the delivery of high-voltage and substation initiatives, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution from design through commissioning.
The role plays a key part in shaping technical and operational standards that support utility-scale solar, battery storage, and transmission projects.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, finance, and external partners to develop cost-effective and scalable HV solutions.
In addition, you will provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams while fostering a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
This position operates in a fast-paced, project-driven environment with high visibility across major energy developments nationwide.

• Develop and execute the high-voltage operations strategy aligned with broader business and project objectives
• Oversee design, construction, and commissioning of high-voltage and substation projects, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
• Identify and evaluate market opportunities for HV deployment across utility-scale, commercial, and industrial energy projects
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to develop cost-effective technical solutions and delivery models
• Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external partners to ensure successful project execution and resource availability
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to HV teams, promoting safety, innovation, and operational excellence
• Represent the organization in client meetings, industry conferences, and regulatory or stakeholder engagements
• Monitor project performance, including profitability, execution efficiency, and client satisfaction outcomes
• Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and technical standards across HV initiatives

Requirements:

• 8–10+ years of experience in high-voltage systems, substation design, or construction within energy infrastructure projects
• Strong background in utility-scale power systems, renewable energy, or transmission/distribution environments
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic operational plans in complex technical environments
• Strong understanding of safety standards, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices for HV systems
• Excellent leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring technical or field-based teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to prioritize and resolve operational challenges
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, finance, and project delivery
• Willingness to travel as required for project and client needs
• Proficiency in standard business tools such as Microsoft Office Suite
