Director of IT

The Director of IT is responsible for the management, strategy, and execution of IT functions for the company. This includes receiving, documenting, and resolving software, hardware, and network issues reported by our employees and customers. The Director of IT will be responsible for supporting our employees technology needs, supporting and maintaining all technology systems including overseeing all Azure cloud architecture and security policies and functions. In addition to having a high sense of self-motivation, this individual must display superior organizational skills and be willing to be hands-on in the  root cause analysis of systems, and issue resolution skills. The ideal candidate will have a background in infrastructure, networking and cloud engineering practices to provide expertise and technical leadership to the IT staff. 

 You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Information Technology Department and ensuring that our company’s technology is meeting its goals and objectives efficiently and reliably. You will work closely with senior leadership, users, and the technology team to help determine the best way possible to meet the technology needs of the company.

Responsibilities: 

• Supervises employees of the information technology department in accordance with organizational policies and goals. 
• Oversees IT Help Desk and IT Operations Management functions in support of our corporate employees and client systems. 
• Ensures proper functioning of the organization's information systems and makes upgrades as necessary. 
• Helps business operations groups utilize information systems to improve their efficiency.  
• Responds to complex, escalated matters and ensures projects are conducted effectively and recommendations and reports are accurate and timely.  
• Keeps computer equipment, hardware, and software updated to meet organizational needs. 
• Analyzes the needs of different departments and determines ways to meet business objectives by modifying existing or developing new information processing systems. Manages the research and selection of IT equipment, applications, and supplies.  
• Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.  
• Sets security standards for the organization and ensures security policies are implemented and adhered to team 
• Oversee all cloud architecture designs and practices 

What we look for: 

• BS in Computer Science or other related field of study and applicable work experience 
• Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function 
• 10 + years’ experience in the IT technology field. 
• Experience managing high performing teams 
• Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
• Expertise in network and infrastructure engineering 
• Expertise with cloud engineering designs and practices 
• Experience with vendor management and contract review/negotiations. 
• Prior experience with supporting and troubleshooting web-based application and installed applications 
• Experience using Azure/GCP/AWS to scale and grow technology systems 
• Experience supporting microservice based application infrastructure.  
• Expertise with basic PC hardware and internet browser configurations 
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to provide support to end users on a variety of topics
