We’re looking for a Director of IT Operations. From day one, you’ll have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our IT operations and an ongoing impact on our overall growth. This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer.
You will:
· Be a leader and main point of contact for the cloud platform practice, will define the cloud platform framework and ways of working.
· Define the growth strategy for the cloud platform engineering practice including resources and hiring, content and marketing, sales priorities, and target customers.
· Have oversight of all Cloud Platform Engineering client accounts, ensuring we are delivering a high-quality service and that our client stakeholders are delighted with the team and outcomes/deliverables.
· Provide strategic leadership for cloud engineering.
· Design, deploy, and optimize AWS infrastructure. Establish DevOps best practices, making a playbook.
· Lead cloud migration initiatives.
· Forge strong vendor partnerships.
· Be accountable for hiring new staff and the ongoing performance management of existing staff within the Cloud Platform Engineering practice.
· Define the Cloud Platform Engineering practice training plan, budget, and certifications for staff.
· Treat morale and staff welfare as a priority, ensure time is spent bonding and collaborating within the practice.
· Be an ambassador, internally and externally.
· Promote DevOps and automation practices.
· Prioritize the security and compliance of all products and solutions to ensure their safety and adherence to regulations.
· Demonstrate commitment to our core competencies of being authentic, curious, creative, empathetic and outcome oriented.
You bring:
· Bachelor's degree in CS or related field (Advanced degree preferred).
· 5+ years of experience managing cloud engineering teams with 10+ engineers.
· Ability to be hands on 50% of the time.
· Recognition as an AWS Cloud Platform expert (DevOps/ Development/ Architecture) with knowledge of Networking, storage, database, containers, Serverless (lambda).
· Previous experience managing a team of AWS Engineers/ Developers.
· Ability to direct teams and collaborate effectively.
· Ability to interact with C-Suite and external stakeholders and customers.
· Strong understanding of AWS Pricing.
· Deep knowledge of AWS services and security.
· Track record of successful cloud transformation.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Demonstrated success getting results through collaboration.
