Director of IT Services

Evolv is seeking a Director of IT Services to strengthen the delivery of IT services and the organization's overall adoption and use of technology.

Evolv is a fast-growing company, and our Information Technology program must be able to deliver effective technology solutions that enable growth, foster collaboration and productivity, and ensure compliance.

Within 3 months, you will

• Get to know the Cybersecurity and IT team, focusing on their areas of expertise and opportunities/interests for growth
• Learn about the technologies and solutions currently in use and identify gaps in service
• Develop an understanding of the business and the business’s technology needs

• Evaluate and recommend solutions for technology improvements

• Start to build relationships with key stakeholders, including finance, accounting, engineering, product management, and people operations

• Learn current compliance obligations and how best to support these efforts

• Develop trust-based relationships to mentor and manage employees in the delivery of IT solutions and services

• Implement and improve processes that reduce risk across the organization

• Take on responsibility for the IT tools and service delivery

By the end of the first year, you will:

• Deliver high quality IT services that continue to enable Evolv’s growth and success
• Build and deliver the technology roadmap for IT services

• Continuous compliance with SOX (Sarbanes Oxley), SOC2, and other standards

• Understand and develop the delivery of IT solutions for the business

• Plan, budget, and execute the IT solutions roadmap

• The Director of IT Services will focus on implementing, maintaining, and monitoring services that enable Evolv’s business to operate effectively. This includes user support, service desk, deployment and management of employee systems, user administration, etc.

• Implement and improve processes that enable Evolv employees to work effectively, regardless of their location
• Manage a team of technicians to support IT services
• Manage a budget for corporate IT resources
• Understand IT Service Management & Delivery through frameworks such as ITIL, Agile, or COBIT
• Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance obligations
• Support subject matter experts to adhere to security best practice
• Understand compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other compliance requirements.
• Have managed IT services in public companies
• Have experience in corporate IT environments with a variety of business applications within finance, accounting, software development, and other systems
• Understand managing mixed environments composed of Microsoft, Apple, and Linux systems.
• Given the needs of this role, we are looking for someone with that unique blend of excellent technical, organizational, and communication skills. The person in this role must prioritize and address IT requests and events.
• Provide excellent customer-orientated services to internal and external entities of Evolv.
• Identify, assess, and champion current and emerging needs of the business
• Design and implementation of enterprise-class IT solutions to support Evolv and our employees
• Manage and triage IT requests as well as projects
• Continuous improvement of the overall IT service
• Implement solutions in a forward-thinking and user-focused manner. This includes delivering iterative improvements in consultation with the business, technology, and other operational support teams.

• You will join the Cybersecurity and IT organization as a direct report of the VP of Cybersecurity and IT.
• Evolv and this team are cross-functional, focusing on helping reduce risk and improve the use of technology throughout the organization.

• The location of this role is based out of our HQ in Waltham, MA, with flexibility in being remote some days
