The Director of Market Research is at the center of product and marketing strategy, providing critical insights from the market that inform product development and promotion. The ideal candidate will have a flexible research skill set and be able to drive a coherent program of testing potential product content and features as well as product positioning, messaging, and samples. The Director of Market Research will report to the SVP Product Marketing and Go To Market Strategy and will work frequently with colleagues on the marketing team as well as partner with the Product and Sales teams on the research roadmap.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a strategic research program and identify the best methodologies to inform ongoing product development as well as messaging and sampling:
  • Work closely with the Product, Marketing, and Sales leaders to assess research needs and drive a market research agenda for individual products and, in some cases, for cross-product questions.
  • Advise on best methodologies for answering particular questions.
  • Conduct field surveys and interviews and/or focus groups as well as manage research vendors to conduct research on Amplify's behalf.
  • Create clear goals and objectives for each research project, as well as interview/focus group protocols and survey questions (or manage a vendor to create these deliverables).
  • Manage multiple research projects simultaneously to meet established deadlines, prioritizing with input from Product/GM, Marketing and Sales leaders.
  • Evaluate the results of market research projects and provide a topline analysis/report of what the implications are for the business (or manage a vendor to do this).
  • Establish a roster of strong market research vendors and consultants who we can call upon to expand our capabilities.
  • Build relationships with leaders across Sales, Marketing, Product, Corporate Strategy, Customer Success, and other teams.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 4+ years in market research, including both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Experience in K-12 education research
  • Track record of excelling at cross-functional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree in the social sciences
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience selecting and managing vendors
  • Entrepreneurial-as a new team, we're constantly innovating and adapting

What we offer:
Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a lucrative 401(k) plan, incentive stock options, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $135,000- $155,000.
