Director of Nursing - RN

A-1 Home Health Care is searching for a Full-Time Director of Nursing who is a qualified professional with at least 1-2 years of Director of Nursing/Clinical Supervision experience. Director of Nursing should be a licensed RN in the State of Texas or in accordance with the Board of Nurse examiners rules for Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Must have supervisory and/or Administrative experience. Demonstrate organization and leadership abilities. • A. Director of Nursing will participate in the development of administrative polices and procedures relating to the Agency. • B. Manages implementation of approved work methods and procedures that reflect elements essential to rendering high quality care. (Ensures that the professional standards of community nursing practices are maintained by all nurses providing care). • C. Reviews and evaluates existing clinical policies and practices to determine if current methods provide the means for professional staff to carry out their responsibilities and achieve projected goals. • D. Participate in the review, analysis and appraisal of the effectiveness of the total Agency program. • E. Interprets and transmits policies of the Board of Directors to the professional staff in order to insure compliance with policies. • F. Maintains on-going liaison among Governing Body and Group of Professional Personnel. • G. Supervises job classifications and job descriptions of professional personnel. • H. Manages all Clinical Field Staff & Case Conferences. • I. Assures that all Incident, Complaint, Infection Control Logs are maintained and up to date. • J. Selects and maintains a qualified, well organized staff to provide care for the needs of the patients. Is accountable for all RN's, LVN's, and HHA's. • K. Supervises and teaches in order to improve practice within the Agency. • L. Assures compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations. • M. Director of Nursing should report to the Administrator/Alternate Administrator Should report to Governing Board if necessary. • N. Obtains authorizations from Insurance Companies to initiate services and makes initial contact for verification of information with client. All other required duties assigned of Director of Nursing of a Home Health Care Agency.
