Director of Operations

We are looking for a Director of Operations who will be responsible for leading the continuous improvement, efficiency and scalability across our back-end functions (distribution, transportation, supply chain, customer service, and factory/manufacturing) processes and systems for a growing omnichannel direct-to-consumer business (eCommerce and wholesale). As we continue to grow and scale domestically, we are looking for an experienced operator who can lead the initiatives of expanding the business internationally at scale.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with founders to set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity
• Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement
• Manage weekly and quarterly sell-in/sell-thru/inventory planning and forecasting by partnering with product, marketing, B2B, and founders
• Liaise with our suppliers, freight forwarders, 3PLs, and other external partners to ensure timely product deliveries
• Oversee and optimize all shipping, receiving, storage, fulfillment, and return processing
• Negotiate contracts with 3PL and small parcel carriers to ensure small parcel rates meet the highest service levels at the lowest possible cost
• Ensures the accuracy of receipts to invoices and ensures prompt payment of payment through careful management of billing accuracy
• Manages and monitors customer service via in-house and external teams, actively driving improvements to our workflows and processes in order to meet our SLAs and KPIs while driving costs down, all without sacrificing customer experiences and quality
• Develop and maintain a robust set of departmental dashboards and KPIs to monitor and measure performance.
• Budgeting + Financial Analysis: Manage budget across all operational functions, including distribution, logistics, CX, and fulfillment.
• Collaborate with founders to ensure revenue and budget objectives are met, expanded on, and actively follow through on them.
• Lead financial analysis and develop cross-functional reporting standards to communicate to operations and leadership teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in an analytical field (e.g. Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or Finance) or equivalent years of experience
• 5+ years of experience in operations or supply chain related work
• Experience in a start-up/scale-up DTC environment with rapid growth and expansion
• Previous experience with ERP (Netsuite), WMS, and e-commerce systems
• Working knowledge of warehousing operations, supply chain, production, and manufacturing processes
• Strong understanding of financial concepts related to project evaluation, inventory financing, financial forecasting, return on investment, etc.
• You love solving operational problems, and always look for ways to improve systems and processes
• You can think and plan at a strategic level, and can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done
• Strong analytical thinker - proven ability to synthesize data into relevant, simple, and compelling recommendations
