What you’ll be doing:
SmartChoice is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and motivated Director of Operations to join our growing team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the company, ensuring that the organization is managed and performed efficiently and effectively.
You will be responsible for…
- Establishing quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business procedures.
- Implementing policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
- Ensuring work environments are adequate and safe.
- Overseeing manufacturing, purchasing, and sales departments, ensuring each is reaching goals set by departmental and company leadership.
- Planning, directing, controlling, implementing, evaluating, monitoring, and forecasting budgets and cost of sales in each division to achieve financial objectives.
- Communicating and explaining new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meeting with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
- Improving customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes.
- Leading coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, technology, and customer service divisions to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
- Projecting a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
What skills & experience you’ll bring...
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or other industry-related field required; MBA preferred.
- At least 10 years of industry-related experience including three years in upper management required.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks.
